World Sustainable Toy Day is Friday 21 November! 🌏

Created by Sustained Fun in 2022, World Sustainable Toy Day is a global celebration of play that’s kind to the planet. Falling one week before Black Friday, it’s a reminder to pause before we purchase and think about how our play choices can make a difference.

The toy industry is one of the most plastic-intensive in the world, producing nearly 1 million tonnes of waste every year (yikes!).

Toy libraries help change that story. By borrowing instead of buying, families reduce waste, save money, and teach children that caring for the planet can start with play.

This year’s theme is “Connecting Families Through Play.” 💚
Children develop a love for the environment through shared experiences with family, and toy libraries make that possible every day.

Join in this World Sustainable Toy Day:
♻️ Borrow instead of buy
🚂 Donate or share toys
💬 Talk to your kids about small actions that help our planet
📸 Share your sustainable play moments using and tag Toy Libraries Australia and World Sustainable Toy Day

Children grow, learn and change so quickly. One minute it’s mirrors and play mats, the next it’s walkers and ride-ons!

A toy library keeps up with every stage without emptying your wallet. Borrow the fun, skip the clutter, and enjoy playtime that grows with your child.

Join your local toy library and save while they play!

We have been fortunate enough to receive numerous toy donations recently. Here are a few examples of the new toys that have been donated. We would like to thank everyone who has generously contributed toys to our Toy Library.

We all love the excitement of a new toy... but did you know that more than half of the toys bought in Australia end up in the bin within a year? 😳 That’s a big waste for the planet and your wallet.

Most toys are made from plastic and often come with lots of packaging and not much playtime. A few cheap toys here and there might not seem like much, but it all adds up (in dollars and landfill).

The good news? There’s a better way. Toy libraries let you borrow high-quality toys that last, without the clutter or the cost. It’s a simple swap for a smarter, more sustainable way to play.

What can $2 get your child each week?
A chocolate surprise egg... maybe fidget toy... or 2-minute shopping centre ride... OR access to hundreds of quality toys from your local toy library!

That's right, many toy library members work out to less than $2 per week, giving families a world of play without the clutter and cheap plastics.

Checkout your nearest toy library and see what's waiting to be borrowed!
