We are inviting parents and carers to attend an upcoming Reading Information Session to learn more about how reading support operates in our classrooms and how you can assist students during reading sessions.

This session will provide practical guidance and an opportunity to ask questions.

Date: Wednesday 22 July
Time: 3:00pm–3:30pm
Location: School Library

Supervision will be provided for children during the session.

What a fantastic Under 8’s Day!

Our school was buzzing with excitement as our P-2 students enjoyed a morning filled with play, creativity, curiosity and fun.

A big thank you to our staff, volunteers and families who helped make the day so special.

If anyone is missing some glitter, don't worry, we've found it absolutely everywhere ✨.

We are pleased to advise that Under 8s Day will still go ahead tomorrow!

Due to the wet weather over the past couple of days, the event will look a little different to previous years, with activities spread across various areas of the school grounds — from the Assembly area, through the Signal Row driveway and the courtyard. This will help us make the best use of the available spaces while still ensuring a fun morning for our students and visitors.

A reminder also that Will from My Coffee Guy will be onsite selling coffee and drinks and will be ready to serve from 8:00am.

We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow for a wonderful morning of fun and celebration!

Thank you to the families who braved the wet weather to attend our first 2027 Prep Information Session. We are proud of our Year 6 leaders, who confidently shared insights about our school and spoke so warmly about their own experiences of why Shorncliffe State School is such a wonderful place to learn.

Prep students have been learning about informative texts. To consolidate their classroom learning, they worked with their Year 6 buddy to create a hen 🐓.

Prep–2 students had a wonderful time celebrating National Simultaneous Storytime today, enjoying the delightful story Luna Roo together in the library. A big thank you to Mrs Hann for bringing the book to life. There were plenty of smiles, laughs, and engaged listeners throughout the session 📚.
