On Monday the Sunshine Coast Council handed over the keys to a new light ridged truck to our Coolum Group. This vehicle is the first of its kind on the Sunshine Coast and will go a long way to allow our volunteers to better serve the community during weather events.

Our unit has been alerted that scammers are currently sending messages pretending to represent the SES and asking for a $1000 donations.

Please be aware:

❌ We do NOT phone community members asking for donations.
❌ We do NOT pressure anyone for money.
❌ Anyone calling you for an SES “donation” is almost certainly a scammer.
❌We do NOT send out text messages asking for donations

These people are trying to take advantage of the goodwill our community has for volunteers. That is not okay.

✅ How to donate safely to support the Sunshine Coast SES

If you wish to support your local SES volunteers, please only use legitimate channels:

🟠 In person when you see us at community events across the Sunshine Coast.
🟠 Throught our Containers for Change scheme code C10603197

These are the only approved ways we collect public donations.

• Do not give personal or banking details to unsolicited callers
• Do not feel pressured to donate on the spot
• Hang up immediately

If something feels off, it probably is.

SES volunteers from around the Sunshine Coast came together to assist at the Kenilworth Chook Chase - Proudly Sponsored By KTM with manning check points and providing emergency access.

The Chook Chase is a non-competitive off-road trail ride event which brings people together and contributes to the local economy and community spirit.

A big thanks goes out to Rapid Relief Team AU for supporting the SES yet again by providing meals for our hungry volunteers!

Today, members of the Sunshine Coast SES gathered at the Nambour Red Cross Lifeblood Donor Centre to donate blood and plasma, helping save lives and support patients in need.

A special congratulations to Jared, who donated plasma for the very first time. This was a significant personal milestone for him as a proud member of the SES LGBTI community, and we're incredibly proud of his commitment to making a difference.

Every blood and plasma donation has the power to change lives. Thank you to everyone who rolled up their sleeves today to help those in need. ❤️🩸
