We'd like to thank Moreton Bay Regional Council for their continued support over the past year!

With multiple Braking the Cycle sites in the area receiving funding to help with entry assessments, we can help more young people learn to be safer drivers and have support to build up their learner driver logbook hours, which will help break down so many barriers to work, education and community connection.

Braking the Cycle would love to congratulate Zukhra from PCYC Mackay who is now an official P Plater! 👏👍
Zukhra passed her driving test at the beginning of May. She started in the BTC program at Bowen and transferred to Mackay to do placement as a Social Worker at Mackay Hospital. Zukhra was a pleasure to have in our program.
Well done to the Mackay and Bowen BTC teams for helping to get her over the line! 🚗🅿

Hats off to Rebekah, a recent graduate from the Braking the Cycle at PCYC Sunshine Coast! 👍🎉
Rebekah passing her test on her first attempt at the end of April. She has been a great participant, always keen for a drive and always taking onboard the feedback that mentors provided. Having her licence will make a huge difference for Rebekah as she works two jobs, one of which is teaching First Nations dance and choreography to school students for a big statewide showcase coming up soon - this has seen her travelling all over the state which will now be much easier with her own car and a licence.
We have loved having Rebekah onboard with BTC, and look forward to seeing the incredible things she achieves moving forward! 🚗🅿

Outcome evaluation of the PCYC’s ‘Braking the Cycle’ Learner Driver Mentor Program [Ethics #8135]

Have you completed PCYC’s ‘Braking the Cycle’ program between 2012 and 2023? If so, you are invited to participate in a research project being conducted by researchers at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) with funding from the Motor Accident Insurance Committee (MAIC). Specifically, we are seeking to determine if completion of the ‘Braking the Cycle’ program has positively impacted driving behaviour.
Should you choose to participate, you will be eligible for entry in a prize draw to win 1 of 50 $100 GiftPay e-vouchers.

A big congratulations to Adama, the latest graduate from Braking the Cycle at PCYC Inala 👍🎉
Adama passed on her first attempt last Wednesday and was a very happy camper indeed.
This licence was extra special as Adama is licence number 150 for the BTC Inala team! Amazing🤩❤

Braking the Cycle would love to congratulate Rikylla from PCYC Crestmead who is now an official P Plater! 👏👍
Rikylla passed her driving test at the end of April on her first attempt with a clean sheet! She had many chats with the BTC team to prepare herself and it finally paid off!
Great work Rikylla - happy and safe driving. Well done to the Crestmead BTC team for helping to get her over the line! 🚗🅿

Congratulations Gemma - well done!!

A big day for Gemma (BTC Mt Gravatt) who passed her test first go today! Gemma was so happy to have her licence, it will make things so much easier going about day to day life with her young daughter, who she was going to collect from school straight away! Gemma has been with BTC for the past seven months, having regular Thursday afternoon drive sessions with her awesome and dedicated mentor, Kev. Gemma's parting comments were that BTC is a "life-changing" program. Nothing to disagree with there! . Congratulations Gemma, and wishing you safe and happy driving always!

Yay Anzelle - enjoy your driving freedom 🎉🚗

PASS!!! PASS!!! PASS!!
Today we had Anzelle pass her driving test with flying colours, all positive feed back from the instructor. Anzelle started with us in 2023 with 30 hours and has been so determined to get her licence, she could only go out after work so would do 4 days a week 5-6 and got her hours up fast.
