🚧 Temporary Road Closure – Johns Hill Road

Council will be undertaking roadside drainage improvement works on Johns Hill Road. The works include the installation of new stormwater pits and culverts to improve drainage and help protect the road network.

To allow these works to be completed safely, Johns Hill Road will be closed from Monday 15 to Wednesday 17 June.

Council has been working with local transport operators, including Wells Wagons, Fonterra and Wynyard Transport, to help minimise disruptions during the closure.

📍 Where will the road be closed?
Please refer to the map, which shows the closure points in orange.

🚗 Alternative routes
Alternative access is available via Faheys Lane and Youngs Road. Please note that Youngs Road is an unsealed gravel road and is not recommended for heavy vehicles.

We appreciate your patience while these important drainage improvements are carried out.

Waste affects all of us - what it costs, how services run, and the impact on our environment.

That’s why we are launching the Circular Head Waste Partnership - a conversation about how we work together on waste and plan for the future.

Watch the video below to hear from Councillor John Oldaker and General Manager Paul Gardner about why this matters, the challenges ahead, and how the community can be part of the conversation.

After watching, we’d love to hear from you in our first waste survey:

We’re now halfway through our community consultation to help shape Council’s new Communications and Engagement Strategy.

Your feedback will help guide how Council:
• shares information
• listens to the community
• and involves people in decisions about the future of Circular Head.

This week, you can chat with us in person at the Economic Development Workshops and drop-in sessions. See dates and times here:
https://www.circularhead.tas.gov.au/yoursay/help-set-the-direction-for-circular-heads-economic-future

We’ll also be at Seven Up on Wednesday afternoon to chat with young people about how they receive Council information and how they would like to be involved in decision-making.

A big thank you to everyone who shared feedback with us last week at Circular Head Aboriginal Corporation and the Volunteer Dinner, and to everyone who has already completed the survey.

We’ve received some really honest, thoughtful and valuable feedback so far - and it is already helping shape the strategy.

If you haven’t completed the survey yet, there’s still time 👇
