A great day at Somers School Camp on Sunday as past staff, Di-Secs, and members of our wider community came together for a working bee.
We rolled up our sleeves and got stuck into refreshing the historic White House — once the Principal’s residence — as we begin the exciting process of turning it into a space that celebrates and preserves the rich history of the Somers site.
From its time as a migrant hostel, to an air force base, and now as the home of Somers School Camp, this place holds so many stories worth remembering.
More than just a working bee, it was a wonderful chance to reconnect, welcome alumni back to camp, and share the stories and memories that make this place so special.
We finished the day the Somers way — with a BBQ, plenty of laughs, and great conversations.
A huge thank you to everyone who gave their time and effort. This is just the beginning, and we’re excited to see the White House come to life again.
If you’d like to be involved in future working bees, projects, or alumni events, we’d love to hear from you — send us a message or email us to be added to our mailing list.
