The Fire Danger Period has been amended for our area and will now be lifted as of 1:00am Tuesday 7 April 2026.

Remember to check the weather forecast before burning off.

In a move to support firefighter wellbeing, all Westernport Group CFA tankers will now be filled with electrolyte sports drink instead of water.
Fires won’t stand a chance… and neither will dehydration 💪

An Extreme Fire Danger Rating has been forecast for today, Tuesday 17 February 2026, in the Central, South West, Wimmera, North Central, and West and South Gippsland districts.
Take action now to protect your life and property – fires will spread quickly and be extremely dangerous.

A Total Fire Ban has also been declared in these districts. This means no fires can be lit or be allowed to remain alight in the open air.

No fires can be lit, or be allowed to remain alight, in the open air from 12:01 AM until 11:59 PM.
