What are you doing on Saturday? Get along to the Somerton War Memorial Hall and enjoy the Tamworth Evening CWA community gathering!

The CWA Tamworth and Tamworth Evening branches invite you to join us at "The Community Gathering" at Somerton Hall on Saturday 30th November.

This fun afternoon will include games and crafts, a jumping castle and face-painting for the kids, Christmas carols, sausage sizzle and, of course, a delicious CWA-baked afternoon tea!

Thanks to the support of the Grace Church in Port Macquarie, we will be distributing hampers for families and farmers dealing with drought.

Great couple of days on horseback at Somerton, when Gunnedah Trail Blazers and some Locals got together for a Trail ride on Saturday, followed by another fun filled day today on horseback with different obstacles to do..... big Thanks goes to Kristie Robinson for organising it.

Thank you to everyone who supported our bingo fundraiser on Saturday night. Over 100 people turned up and helped raise valuable funds for our P and C. We have more exciting ideas like this we would like to implement.

April 25 1915, lest we forget...
"They had pushed into the upper parts of Mule Valley in their attempt to climb onto Second Ridge, with the lightly wounded helping to carry the more seriously wounded, when they were met by Lieutenent Heugh [from Somerton Village, NSW] who bravely raced out to help them into the firing line above. Cowey and Heugh proceeded to divide the [ANZAC] party into two and with each group covering the other they withdrew towards MacLaurin's Hill. Almost all made it onto the left shoulder of Courtney's Post and proceeded to dig in." Lieutenent David Heugh, from Somerton Village, NSW, passed on 29 April 1915 - one month before his 25th birthday.
