🐾 Community Story: Paige

A few months ago, Paige started her own dog walking business in Busselton. As a person with disability, starting a business came with challenges, including competition, promoting herself, and stepping outside her comfort zone.

Despite these barriers, Paige has persevered. She loves helping pet owners by providing a flexible and reliable service, and enjoys seeing how grateful her customers are. 🐶

Running her business has also helped Paige stay active, build confidence, and continue learning new skills every day.

✨ “There’s always an opportunity to learn.” – Paige

Help design a community mural that celebrates the stories, strengths and diversity of our community.

We are inviting young people with disability aged 15 to 25 to join a creative workshop with our amazing artist Sarah and help shape the design of a new community mural.

You do not need to be an artist. You do not need to have ever picked up a paintbrush before. We want to hear your ideas, your story and what community means to you.

There are two workshop dates available, but you only need to attend one for your story and ideas to be included in the mural design process.

Workshop options:

Thursday 9 July
9:00am to 1:00pm
School holiday session

Friday 31 July
12:00pm to 4:00pm

We will meet again at a later date to start painting the mural together.

Free workshop
All materials provided
Support people welcome
Lunch Provided

💬 Great conversations were had at our Co-Design Meeting this week.

As we begin developing a new grant project, it was important to start where all good projects should - with people with disability.

Attendees shared their ideas, experiences, and perspectives, helping to shape the project from the very beginning. The discussion reinforced the value of co-design and the importance of creating opportunities with people with disability, for people with disability.

Thank you to everyone who contributed their voice, insight, and lived experience. We’re excited about what’s ahead. ✨
