Accordwest has welcomed the Federal Government’s announcement of more than $300 million through the Housing Australia Future Fund to deliver 520 homes for young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness across Australia.

Accordwest CEO Danelle Milward said:

"In the South West, we continue to see strong demand for youth housing and support services, and we know there are young people who would benefit from additional accommodation and support options. Continued investment in regional communities will help ensure more young people can access the support they need before crisis becomes entrenched."

Accordwest delivers Emergency Relief services in Harvey on the 4th Wednesday of each month, between 10:00am and 12:00pm at the Harvey Resource Centre. Please note that times may occasionally vary.

If you're experiencing financial hardship and finding it difficult to afford essential items, our team may be able to help.

✅ Assistance may include:
• Woolworths vouchers
• Foodbank vouchers and referrals
• Part-payment of selected invoices

Our Emergency Relief service is available to eligible residents of the Bunbury, Capel, Dardanup, and Harvey Shires.

Connections Week in Busselton was all about bringing people together, creating connections and making sure people experiencing or at risk of homelessness know they are not alone.

Connections Week Busselton brought together five events across five days, with more than 10 community and local government organisations working together to listen, connect and better understand the experiences of people experiencing homelessness.

The week highlighted the power of collaboration, when community organisations, local government and people with lived experience come together, we can create stronger connections and better outcomes.

It also showcased the incredible resilience of people experiencing homelessness, and the importance of creating spaces where their voices and experiences are heard.

But the conversation doesn’t stop here.

The next step is to bring together the data, insights and stories captured throughout Connections Week into a report that will showcase the key findings and experiences from across the week.

We’ll then launch the report to share these findings with the wider community and help inform future conversations and action around homelessness in the region.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making Connections Week such a meaningful week of connection, collaboration and community.

Today the Community Hub is based at the Salvation Army at 94 Kent Street, Busselton

Volunteers will be available to assist with the Connections Week survey and support initiatives until 1pm today.

If you, or someone you know wishes to participate in the survey to assist with planning support services in the local area, this is the last opportunity.

Busselton Connections Week
Homelessness is a growing challenge affecting many people across our communities. Behind every statistic is a person, family, or young person navigating difficult circumstances.

Through out this week, at our Busselton Community Hubs between 9am-1pm, we are collecting community data and promoting access to local supports and items available, including:
✅ A hot meal
✅ Personal care packs
✅ Food essentials (for pets too!)
✅ Everyday necessities

Together, we can help ensure community members know where support is available and remind people that they are not alone.
