A massive thank you to the members of Grafton City for your turn outs over the last week or so having multiple call outs during this time and in the last 5 days having all 3 trucks out and supplying drivers for the Clarence Valley hq 6.

As daylight saving ends and we gain an extra hour, it’s a great opportunity to take a moment for home fire safety. It is important to check your smoke alarms to ensure they’re working properly.

It’s crucial your home has working smoke alarms, as they provide an early warning and give you and your family valuable time to escape during a house fire.

With the cooler months approaching, please stay safe this winter. There are several simple steps you can take, such as creating a home escape plan, ensuring your smoke alarm is working and keeping all items at least a meter from the heater.

Permits in the Clarence Valley will be required again on 1st September 2026 (unless significant fire activity causes the start of the BFDP to be brought forward). Between now and September, residents are still required to notify their neighbours and the RFS 24 hours prior to undertaking any burning on their land. 🚔🇦🇺 come into effect at MIDNIGHT TONIGHT and will remain in place for 4 DAYS across the long weekend — until 11:59PM Monday.

: It’s double demerits, not double the fine.

Double demerit points will apply to all , MOBILE , & MOTORCYCLE offences 🔽

📱MOBILE PHONE OFFENCES
• 10 demerit points for using mobile phone while driving

🚘 SEATBELT OFFENCES:
• 6 demerit points for driver not wearing seatbelt
• 6 demerit points for single passenger (any age) not wearing a seatbelt/approved restraint
• 12 points for two or more unrestrained passengers.
• 18 points for driver and two or more passengers not wearing seatbelt
• 6 demerit points for driving with a person in/on boot

🏍 MOTORCYCLE OFFENCES:
• 6 demerit points for riding with no helmet
• 6 demerit points for riding with unhelmeted passenger
• 12 demerit points if both rider and passenger are unhelmeted
• 18 demerit points if rider and two or more passengers are unhelmeted

🚔 SPEEDING OFFENCES (Full licence):
• 2 demerit points for
