Hedland Toy Library will have a stall at World Biggest Play Day on tomorrow, Tuesday May 16th at Shay Gap Park.

We're a community charitable organisation run solely by volunteer parents/guardians. Any members or new followers available to lend a hand? 🤗 we'll just have our inflatable golf course, rollercoaster and few large toys there. Even if just for an hour or so, send us a DM!

𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 & 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗣 𝗡𝗘𝗘𝗗𝗘𝗗!

Hedland Toy Library will be 𝗖𝗟𝗢𝗦𝗘𝗗 for the month of JULY whilst we’re moving into our NEW HOME! All 600+ toys are now boxed up and the BIG MOVE starts 7am tomorrow – Saturday, 2 July 22!

After over 15 years of calling South Hedland Lotteries House home, Hedland Toy Library can now announce we have found a new temporary space at the JD Hardie Youth and Community Hub whilst we continue to search for a permanent location!

There’s been a lot of HARD WORK behind the scenes to get to this point and we’d like to thank the Town of Port Hedland for this opportunity to showcase our service at the peak kids & youth hub in town and everyone whose helped our efforts over the last 8 months!

Such a move is a 𝗜𝗠𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗦𝗘 𝗟𝗢𝗚𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗟 𝗧𝗔𝗦𝗞 for any form of library and only possible due to the 𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗗 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞 of our small volunteer committee of 3. All HTL services will be 𝗖𝗟𝗢𝗦𝗘𝗗 as we need to move all toys, remove & install toy cupboards, reset our catalogues and set up in our brand new empty room!

𝗧𝗢𝗬 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗖𝗨𝗣𝗕𝗢𝗔𝗥𝗗 𝗠𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦 & 𝗧𝗢𝗬 𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗡𝗘𝗘𝗗𝗘𝗗!

𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘀! This move has to be conducted in a staged approach over the next few weeks working with the JD Hardie management team. We require resources, volunteer muscles and skills of all kinds.

• 𝗧𝗢𝗬 𝗠𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦 – Saturday, 2nd July – 7AM START AT LOTTERIES - We need hands to help move over 50 x removalist boxes, toys and equipment out of the Lotteries House Cupboards, load into an enclosed truck and drop off (boxes only - no unpacking) into our new space at the JD! • 𝗖𝗨𝗣𝗕𝗢𝗔𝗥𝗗 𝗠𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦 – EXACT DATES TO BE CONFIRMED! - After the July school holiday period, we require hands to help dissemble, and relocate our large, white storage shelves from Lotteries house to the JD

• 𝗧𝗢𝗬 𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗦 – EXACT SORTING DAYS TO BE CONFIRMED! - Once our cupboards are installed, we’ll need help unpacking all boxes to fit-out and re-rack the new space back into place according to our library themes and catalogue numbers

All volunteered assistance with our move will be credited to your library memberships volunteer tally’s. REMEMBER! If you volunteer over 12 hours within 1 year – you will receive 50% discount off of your Toy Library membership!

We are super happy to announce that starting 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝟳 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮, HTL can finally reopen it's doors to our community and will continue to assess on a fortnightly basis! We are so excited!

𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗧𝗢𝗬 𝗟𝗜𝗕𝗥𝗔𝗥𝗬

We do ask, if possible, for only one member of your family to attend at a time and respect instructions from our volunteer library coordinators running the library on that day. If children are attending, please keep lil hands sanitised and remain conscious of wiping down any high-touch surfaces throughout our play area during your time at the library.

⚠️ TOY LIBRARY TEMPORARILY CLOSED! ⚠️
Assessed for Saturday browse and borrows sessions on a FORTNIGHTLY basis for May 2022!

Our top priority is health and safety of our volunteers, members, children and all our families now that they're confirmed cases of COVID-19 throughout our community.
We're still monitoring local situation alongside our volunteer capacity and in regular discussion with other Toy libraries across WA and Toy Libraries Australia of various methods in reducing high-shared contact of toys between households as well as our toy safety and hygiene procedures to keep our service safe for everyone! If you have toys due to be returned - please hold onto them for now.

All HTL members are also advised that Hedland Toy Library is ON THE MOVE! 👋🚛

Our volunteer committee are currently appealing to local council, MPs, industry and other community venues and groups to help our efforts in finding our beloved library a new location with enough room to store our collection of OVER 600+ TOYS. If you're able to help in our Toy library relocation efforts, please get in touch!
