Today we celebrate the birth of our Republic.

80 years ago, on June 2nd, 2026, the Italian people were called to the urns to decide the future of their country, and the date has been commemorated ever since as the beginning of modern Italy.

The Italian Cultural Institute of Melbourne is proud to carry on that same legacy and heritage, and wishes you an happy Republic Day!
