Congratulations to the City of Gosnells staff & Elected Members for Mary Carroll Park being named Park of the Year and taking out 1st place at the Parks and Leisure Australia WA Awards 2026.

Colleen Egan - Member for Thornlie, Matt Keogh and I as the local advocates for Gosnells are proud to have supported Mary Carroll with the $1 million Lotterywest grant for the Changing Places toilets and it is wonderful to see so many Gosnells residents able to further enjoy one of our amazing locations.

We all give a special thank you to Unice and all our Volunteer Friends of Mary Carroll Wetland as Guardians of our Wetlands and we know these works meant our park and Wetlands are now be enjoyed by even more people.

I thank the City of Gosnells for funding the bridges and playground, a project that was in progress when I was a Gosnells councillor.

If you live in my electorate around Mary Carroll wetlands along Verna, Elsie, and Harry streets and surrounds, in 2021 I doorknocked 500+ homes with the proposal for the bridges and Wetlands and asked what the community wanted. I am happy to say the Council took our feedback on board and we provided the $1 million as requested by Council.

Local Gosnells PS teacher Mary Carroll who took her students to the wetlands for outdoor education many years ago would be very proud.

And we wish Mary Carroll Park the best for the Parks and Leisure Australia National Awards in Dec 2026.

Delivering on our Promises- $21 million Infrastructure Milestone reached!

After the election, I promised to get to work and continue delivering our election promises- and now over $21 million has been delivered to Gosnells Council in the recent period for local infrastructure.

During the previous Liberal Govt, Gosnells was always neglected and I am proud that Gosnells, Southern River and my electorate now receives a record high amount of infrastructure - as it should always be.

Whilst the Liberals on Gosnells Council continue to block and delay the Indoor Pool, we have been able to continue to fund over $21 million of major infrastructure- a record high level for my community - over this recent period.

There is always more to do, and I will always keep fighting for our area - and I will keep working with all Elected Members (even those that try to stop these projects) to advocate for our area.

The projects included in the $21 million include
* $7.8 million Garden st extension (2025/26)
* $2 million Suth Park Indoor Pool (2025)
* $2 million Youth Plaza (2025)
* $1.3 million PSP Footpath- Seaforth station (2025)
* Approx $2 million in land for the new Gosnells Tip (CREC) (2022-26)
* $1.5 million Langford Indoor Netball Courts (2024-26)
* $1.5 million for new SRC ovals (2025-26)
* $1 million Mary Carroll toilets (2024)
* $1 million for 7 park upgrades (incl Aldenham) 2025-26
* $615K Night Lights (Reserves A, B, F) Suth Park (2024-25)
* 300K Bus stop upgrades (2021-26)
$21 million (plus many other grants including Barrett st and more since 2017 plus a new CCTV grant about to be announced.

I want to acknowledge logistics.

Thank you to the Superstar team RAC Arena for looking after my family and I this weekend at Disney on Ice (I am a proud Disney Dad)

Multiple shows, Tens of 1000s of patrons (plus Mickey, Minnie and lots of Disney princesses), children (and their parents in all states of happiness and distress)- the RAC Arena staff were incredible, managing everyone and all.

And congrats to all the parents and grandparents, aunties, uncles and carers for their logistics in managing all the kids in and out smoothly, safely and back home safe in crazy weather.

The logistics of so many moving parts and moving humans.

Great to be part of the Grand Opening of KFC Southern River today with Aigle Royal at Southern River Shopping Centre with Elected Members and the Colonel.

Since the March 2025 election (as of this morning- I went doorknocking before Parliament) I have knocked on 2,031 doors and I announce the retirement of my (now former) doorknocking shoes - a hole has been worn in and the water gets in when I doorknock in the rain.

For those playing at home, the 2,031 doors was from April 2025 to this morning- and in the previous Parliament (April 2021-Feb 2025) I knocked on 13,149 doors.

I love doorknocking and I doorknock every week. And if I doorknocked you recently, likely I was wearing these shoes when we spoke.

I will always keep doorknocking, it is how I get to hear directly from you what you want me to do as your representative- and allows me one on one to help you claim your $100 Fuel Voucher for each WA Drivers License holder on your house.

Thank you to everyone who came last week to the Free Basketball giveaway and to try out the new Infinity Hoop at Huntingdale IGA oval!

We were thrilled to give away 115 FREE basketballs and 40 FREE footballs to local kids and families, and it was fantastic to see so many people getting involved - and to see people get their $100 Fuel Voucher also.

A special thank you to Matt Pham and his team at IGA Huntingdale for funding the free balls and the Infinity Hoop (open now next to the IGA in Redfox Park) and Thank you also to my team and volunteers and our City of Gosnells Elected Members.

Thank you again to everyone who attended—we hope to see the Infinity Hoop enjoyed by the community for many years to come!
