👪 Community Connections in Action👪

It was fantastic to see so many local families and community members come together at the recent ETC Families & Community Connect Event on the Gold Coast.

The Gold Coast Regional Jobs Committee was proud to support ETC - Employment and Training on the day, with the Project Manager, Shane Thomson, and our Committee Member, Jodi Brackenbury, assisting at the Parent Pathways information stand.

The Parent Pathways program supports parents and carers with personalised guidance to explore education, training and employment pathways.

The event brought together a wide range of community organisations, training providers, and support services, helping families connect with valuable opportunities while fostering meaningful conversations about employment, training, education, and the support services available across the region. 💼🤝

👏 Thank you to ETC and all participating organisations for creating a positive space where families could access support, build connections and learn about the many opportunities available within our community.

🚧Grounded Program Launches Pathways to Civil Construction Careers🚧

Today marked the official launch of the Grounded Program, a First Nations pre-employment initiative creating meaningful pathways into the civil construction industry.

Delivered by Shaping Australia Group and proudly funded by the Australian Government, the Grounded Program is designed to connect First Nations participants with real employment opportunities through practical skills development, industry knowledge, hands-on experience and career pathways in one of Australia's most in-demand sectors.

Participants will take part in hands-on learning, industry exposure, cultural support and job readiness activities, building the confidence, skills and capabilities needed to enter the civil construction workforce. 🛠️👷

In recent weeks, the Gold Coast Regional Jobs Committee has been proud to engage with key stakeholders and partners as preparations for the Grounded Program came together. These valuable conversations and collaborations have played a vital role in shaping a program that is responsive to community needs and focused on creating meaningful employment opportunities.

Together, we are demonstrating the power of partnership in supporting positive employment outcomes and fostering long term career success for participants.

The GC RJC remains committed to supporting initiatives that increase workforce participation, strengthen communities, create sustainable employment pathways across our region and empower First Nations people to achieve their career goals. ⚫ 🟡 🔴

🛥️Women in Motion Inspires Pathways into Marine Manufacturing Careers🛥️

Last Tuesday, GC RJC Project Manager, Shane Thomson, attended the Women in Motion industry site visit at Riviera Boats in Coomera.

The visit provided participants with valuable real-world exposure to the marine manufacturing sector, offering insight into the range of career pathways available within this growing industry.

Women in Motion is an initiative focused on creating meaningful pathways for women into emerging and high demand industries. The program connects participants with industry experiences, training opportunities, mentoring and employment pathways, supporting long term workforce participation and skills development. 🧑‍💼🛠️

During the visit to Riviera, participants had the opportunity to tour the facility and gain first hand insight into the manufacturing processes and the diverse roles that contribute to the marine production industry. These experiences help to build awareness of career possibilities while strengthening connections between industry and future talent.

This initiative is proudly funded through the Queensland Government’s Local Skills Solutions Fund.
