LATEST PODCAST: The Gold Coast craft brewery that changed the game and has stood the test of time – Interview with Peta Fielding, CEO and Director of Burleigh Brewing Company

FULL Episode on our Website➡️ https://rdagoldcoast.org.au/podcast/peta-fielding-burleigh-brewing-company-the-gold-coast-craft-brewery-that-changed-the-game-and-has-stood-the-test-of-time

Twenty years ago, Peta Fielding and her husband Brennan took an extraordinary leap of faith: they left secure careers, backed an idea that barely existed in Australia and set out to change the way the Gold Coast thought about beer.

Back then, beer was dominated by the big brewers, and choosing a beer was a bit like choosing your football team — if Dad drank Fosters, chances were you did too. There was little appetite for independent beer, and no established playbook for what Peta and Brennan were trying to build.

Two decades, more than 30 world gold medals and a much bigger brewery later, the Burleigh Brewing Company has become far more than a successful business. From its early community Brewhouse Bashes to its commitment to local people and partnerships, the company has embedded itself in the life of the city, and the hearts of its residents.

In this episode, Peta shares the risks and rewards, the twists and turns, and, most importantly, the deep sense of community belonging behind one of our truly iconic and beloved Gold Coast businesses.

💫Inspiring the Next Generation of Women Leaders💫

On Tuesday, RDA Gold Coast CEO, Estella Rodighiero, was a panellist on the ‘Queensland Leading Women’ panel at the 2026 Empowering Young Women Leadership Masterclass at Southern Cross University.

Bringing together 50 Year 10 and 11 students and eight teachers from Gold Coast secondary schools, the masterclass was an inspiring day focused on confidence, resilience, decision making, personal branding, career pathways and creating opportunities.👩‍💼📝

🥼Celebrating a New Era of Health and Innovation on the Gold Coast🥼

A significant milestone for the Gold Coast’s health and innovation ecosystem as construction begins on the Health and Advanced Technology Research and Innovation Centre (HATRIC).

It was fantastic to see RDA Gold Coast Committee Member, Professor Stefanie Feih, attend the recent sod-turning ceremony for the HATRIC Building, celebrating the commencement of this transformative project at the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct.

HATRIC will strengthen the region’s innovation ecosystem by bringing together researchers, industry and healthcare partners to support world-class research, collaboration and the development of future health technologies. 🔬 🧪

We look forward to seeing HATRIC come to life and the opportunities it will create for our region’s innovation, investment and future workforce.
