We've been running our IT Support office off-the-grid on solar for some time now, and this has been a remarkable success. In order to sustain and even increase power availability, especially during the night in winter when batteries can deplete more than the recommended level, we're getting ready to deploy another wind turbine. The engineering behind this is quite fascinating as it is challenging.

Perhaps in the future, we may even be able to run our entire public web server from this office; currently we're running a Raspberry Pi 4 server - which as you know doesn't consume much power at all compared to the large rackmount Dell servers we are currently using.

Spencers Brook has been a bit chilly over the past couple of days. Hope you are all staying well rugged up and warm.

Things to remember about our community.
The Sunday Stall is open every weekend from 9-11.30am. Some of the locals bring down their handmade items, plants and chutneys and jams. There is always a hot cuppa and a fresh scone available.
The book exchange at the Bus Shelter is there for anyone who would like to donate there finished books and to take another to read. There is also CD's and DVD's and occassionaly some toys for the taking.
The SBPA also has meetings where you are most welcome to come and listen in or contribute any ideas for Spencers Brook. The next meeting will be on Thursday 18th August, 2023
We live is beautiful locality and litter is on the increase along the roads. Carmel will be asking for support to cleaning up the area in August - which is part of Keep Australia Beautiful week. More details as they come in.
