Last Tuesday we were lucky enough to get a crew up frim Dalkeith to run us through their HAZMAT unit.

Dalkeith Hazmat is one of two of our closest hazmat units, with the other being at Nuriootpa.

Although we wont be doing much of the actual work at a hazardous materials job there are still things we can do to assist their operators to make things run more smoothly.

They will also come up and run decontamination for our BA operators when a structure contains asbestos or other chemicals.

Many thanks to the team from Dalkeith Country Fire Service for coming up and giving us a run through

No more petrol crisis - we're switching to horse-power! 🐎

In order to combat the insane diesel prices and availability issues, Hahndorf CFS has acquired four Clydesdale horses to pull our Pumper to emergencies.

The horses - named Cinder, Ember, Blaze and Ash - will live in newly-built stables at Hahndorf Station, with feed donated by local farmers.

The horses are also expected to generate a revenue stream for the Brigade - tourists to Hahndorf can get a photo with the Clydesdales for $5. We'll also be selling bags of horse manure for $3.

The horses will be wearing high vis harnesses, and we are looking into mounting flashing lights on their heads.

Please give us a wave when you see us around town! 👋
