Think winter keeps your food safe? Think again. ❄️🦠

This World Food Safety Day, we're busting 5 cold-weather food myths that could be putting you and your family at risk. The truth is, food poisoning bacteria can grow quickly between 5°C and 60°C and that danger zone doesn't take a winter break.

A few simple habits can make all the difference:
✅ Keep your fridge below 5°C
✅ Refrigerate leftovers promptly - don't leave them out overnight
✅ Defrost food in the fridge, not on the bench
✅ Check use-by dates - not just the sniff test

Did you know that reducing food waste could save you over $2100 a year?

This World Environment Day, it’s a good reminder that small changes at home can make a big difference 🌏

Here are some easy ways to make your food last longer (and waste less):
🥕 Store food properly – keep your fridge below 5°C and refrigerate food straight away
🧊 Freeze what you won’t use – fruit, veggies and leftovers can last months in the freezer
🧅 Keep some foods in a cool, dry place – like potatoes, onions and garlic
