Meet Our Paul Harris Fellow – Maritta Hutley
Behind every Paul Harris Fellowship is someone who quietly goes above and beyond for others—and Maritta Hutley is a wonderful example. Maritta was received this award at the Rotary Club of Stanthorpe's Changeover evening.
As a founding member and current President of the Southern Downs Su***de Prevention Network, Maritta has played a pivotal role in building an organisation that continues to support people and families throughout our region.
She has led the development of mental health support packs for the emergency departments at Stanthorpe and Warwick Hospitals, carefully selecting practical resources that provide comfort and hope to people experiencing crisis. She continues to coordinate and replenish these packs, ensuring they are available when they are needed most.
Maritta also serves as a counsellor at the Granite Belt Neighbourhood Centre, supporting individuals and families while working with local organisations to improve road safety awareness for multicultural drivers. Her passion for mental health education and su***de prevention has helped build a stronger, more compassionate and better-informed community.
The Paul Harris Fellowship is named after Rotary's founder and is one of Rotary's highest honours. It recognises people whose service creates lasting change while supporting The Rotary Foundation, including Rotary's worldwide campaign to End Polio Now.
Thank you, Maritta, for your extraordinary commitment to caring for others. Your service truly reflects Rotary's ideal of Service Above Self.
