Alton Downs is currently responding along with multiple other RFS & QFR resources to a large fire in Kalapa adjacent to the Capricorn Highway.

Please check the QLD Traffic app or myPolice Rockhampton Region page to stay up to date on Capricorn Highway and surrounding area road closures.
Remember to drive to the conditions. Put your hazard lights on and watch out for firefighters and other motorists if driving through smoke.

A massive thank you again to Kabra Country Hotel for hosting such an incredible event yesterday in support of the Stanwell Rural Fire Brigade. We are extremely grateful for their generosity, with just over $6,000 raised and donated to Stanwell Rural Fire. The support from our local community means more than words can say.

Stanwell Progress Assoc are holding their annual Christmas party on the 13th December hope to see our community memebers there. 🎄

It’s that time of year again! 🎅🏻🎄
This year’s annual Stanwell Progress Association community Christmas party will be held on Saturday 13th December at the Stanwell Hall. This is a free event for the community proudly sponsored by Stanwell Power Station. Festivities will kick off around 5pm with jumping castles for the kids, a visit from Santa, a lucky door prize and a free bbq. There will be drinks available for purchase or you can BYO. We kindly ask that if you are thinking of attending could you please let us know by contacting us on 0409264548, email us at [email protected] or send us a message via our page and if you have children attending could you please let us know how many so we can pass on numbers to Santa so that no one misses out.
