What a way to finish the term - with a combined 3yr and 4yr old Marrang sessional Kinders excursion to the Stawell Mine!

What started as a discussion with the children in the yard, observing imaginative play- mimicking the roles there parents play in their day to day lives and in their workplaces, sprouted connections of family's in joint workplaces. Through these discussions and discoveries, the team created a Mini Stawell Gold Mine set up in the shared yard, where children could explore panning and searching for gold.

With enthusiasm and inquiry we then planned an excursion to the viewing area at the Mine where we were greeted with some of the families who work there.

Thank you Anne, Cameron, Justin, Paul, Michael, Stephanie and Isabella (and others!!) for allowing us to visit and share with us the exciting workplaces you work in. We could have watched the trucks come and go all day!!

It's no secret that SSAC has:
▪️ Ageing, end-of-life infrastructure that can be unreliable at times.
▪️ Ongoing maintenance challenges, especially during the cooler months.
▪️ Temperature control barriers in the stadium and gymnasium.

Your experiences and usability insights will directly inform our advocacy strategy which will enable council to work towards securing funding and hopefully deliver Phase 1 of the proposed project, which is estimated to need $28.5 million.

National Tree Day 🌳 🌲 🌴
At the end of July the 3 and 4 year old sessional kinder celebrated National Tree Day.
We were very lucky and received some very generous donations of some fruit trees from Stawell Toyota. These were sourced from another local business in Greenfingers.
The children were involved in the whole planning process of picking which fruit trees we would like in our yard, where to plant them, digging the holes and planting them.
Debbie from Stawell Toyota came in and helped us with the planting.
And of course a photo opportunity - oh what a feeling, Toyota
