Have you been enjoying some early morning or after work exercise at our lit up spaces over Winter? 🔦🏃‍➡️

A reminder that our Ready, Set, Glow initiative is winding up on September 30.

You can continue to enjoy exercise under lights at the below locations in Stawell and St Arnaud between 6pm and 7.30pm on Monday and Wednesday evenings, and between 6am and 7am on Wednesday mornings.

📍Stawell: North Park athletic track, infield and netball courts are lit up every Monday and Wednesday evening, with the athletic track and infield also lit up on Wednesday mornings (no netball courts).

📍St Arnaud: Lord Nelson oval is lit up every Monday and Wednesday evening and Wednesday morning.

The campaign aims to encourage community members to be active in safe, welcoming and inclusive spaces during the cooler and darker months, but with the warmer weather and daylight savings returning soon, we will return to normal programming soon.

Introducing our newest Infant and Preschool teacher Jemana 🥳

Jemana has been a swim teacher with SSAC for just under two years and is now able to add Infant and Preschool Swim Teacher to long list of roles at the centre.

Not only do you we see Jemana in the pool teaching three days a week, she is also a Lifeguard, Duty Manager and works behind the scenes in an administration capacity.

You will find Jemana in the pool teaching our Saturday morning Wonder classes, so be sure to say hello and introduce yourself.

AQUATIC FACILITIES MAINTENANCE OFFICER | Part-time, 20 hours per week

Hands-on, practical and take pride in keeping facilities clean, safe and running smoothly?
Join our Leisure and Recreation team at Stawell Sports and Aquatic Centre, with seasonal support at St Arnaud Swimming Pool.

A key part of your day-to-day work will involve cleaning and maintaining the facility, including ensuring pool surrounds, amenities and other areas are clean, presentable and ready for our community to use.

What you will do:
🔸 Daily cleaning and presentation of the facility
🔸 General maintenance and minor repairs
🔸 Aquatic plant and water quality operations
🔸 Preventative maintenance and contractor coordination
🔸 Support seasonal pool operations
🔶 Help keep our facilities safe, clean and compliant

We are looking for someone who is reliable, practical, proactive and safety-focused.

SUPERHERO & SPECIAL PERSON WEEK 🦸‍♀️

We loved seeing everyone come to their swimming lessons dressed up for Special Person and Superhero Week!

Not only we did we see students bring their grandparents, dads, mums, aunties and uncles, we even had a request to bring someone's beloved pet dog. After all, shouldn't everyone superhero get to see how well the student's superpower is progressing (swimming) and how far they have come this year.

Thanks to all those who took part. Our prize winners for that week are listed below who all get to take home a sinker pack, so please call past reception on your next visit to collect it.

‼️‼️ Updated Wednesday September 2 at 12PM

The door is back in operation and all gym members will have access.

Evening members, we are currently experiencing technical difficulties with our door scanner to access the gym after hours.

There is currently no access to the centre with your membership fob after hours.

Our staff will be back onsite tomorrow, Wednesday, September 2, from 5am, please use the front centre entrance to access the gym.

If you would like to access the gym between now and 5.30am, please send us a message, and we will share an access code with you.

Sorry for the inconvenience this may cause, we will update this post tomorrow once we have more information.

Can you please today is the first day of Spring!

Don't forget - there are still 4 days left in our Winter Passport Challenge for 2026. If you have a couple of stamps to go to complete your entry card, make sure you get in this week and collect some stamps by:

🌊 Attending your swimming lesson this week.
🌊 Booking a make-up lesson this week.
🌊 Visiting for a swim after school or kinder.

Our major prize winners will be drawn on Monday, September 7.

Whistle Week has landed at SSAC 🏊‍♂️

Whistle Week is a safety activation that happens in all our swimming lesson this week and aims to prepare our students and their families for an emergency event at the pool.

If you are at the facility for recreational activities this week, please don't be alarmed by the three loud whistle blasts and there is nothing you need to do as a result. This educational drill is purely for our swimming program.

Classes will come together and discuss what would happen in the likely event of an emergency. Some of the messages we will be educating people about include:

• What the three LONG, LOUD whistle calls from the lifeguard mean, which requires everyone to safely exit the water immediately.
• The location of our emergency exits.
• How an evacuation would occur in an emergency in our pool deck area.

We will also have a staff member on pool deck ensuring all children have their Watch Around Water bands on which is a condition of entry. There are pink wrist bands for children 5 years & under and yellow bands for children 9 years & above.

If your child has a band at home, please ensure they are bringing it to the pool and are wearing it while in the water. If they have lost it or don't have one, please speak with our reception staff who have some available to hand out.
