Happy New Year 2022 to everyone. I want to say a big thankyou to all my couples who allowed me to be part of their special day in 2021. It was the the highlight of my year to witness such profound love and to see your commitments made to each other in unique and personal ceremonies.
I look forward to doing the same in 2022.

This week is World Celebrants Week!

We are celebrating that Australia was the first country whose government appointed non-clergy celebrants (19th of July, 1973) with the specific intention that they would create ceremonies that might be as culturally enriching and, if required, as formal as church weddings.

An "authorised celebrant" is a person who is registered by the Australian Government to perform legal marriages according to the Marriage Act 1961. Only registered marriage celebrants have the authority to perform marriages in Australia.

In 2020, 80% of all marriages in Australia were performed by a Civil Celebrant.

When you sign your marriage documents you must use your same signature that you signed your Notice of Intended Marriage document. (Maiden Name)

FUN FACT FRIDAY:

Did you know… when you sign your marriage documents on your wedding day - you must sign them with the same signature/name that you signed your Notice of Intended Marriage form.

For example: If you are Jane Smith and you’re marrying Matthew Johnson then you must sign your regular signature in those names - not the names you might be planning on using after you’re married… ie: Jane Johnson, Matthew Johnson-Smith, etc…

NOTE: these are example names only - any similarity to a real person/couple is purely coincidental

Just wanting to use my platform to remind everyone that the month of October is baby loss awareness month.
October 15th being International Baby Loss Awareness Day. 💜👣💜
Please do not be afraid to reach out to parents who have experienced such loss and let them know you are thinking of them.
Just to hear their little ones name is music to their ears.
Wether this is through a hug, a phone call or text, even a card.
You do not know how much this would mean to them.

Jemima & Errol continued....
Jemima made her own Sand Ceremony frame.
The Sand ceremony was a beautiful ritual in which separate vessels of sand are poured into a unified, central one.
Errol's two daughters took part also representing a family coming together by marriage.🌸🌸🌸🌸

These two wrote the most incredibly fun, happy-go-lucky, but truly love inspired vows.
Was such a great atmosphere full of love & laughter.

Errol and Jemima Boundy tied the knot on the 17th July 2021 on the beach front of the Eco Village, Mission Beach.
They too had to postpone their special day last year due to Covid-19.
They were able to celebrate with family & friends.
Jemima's family were able to travel from New Zealand and witness this beautiful event.💐🍾🥂

When wanting to book me as your celebrant for your wedding, I encourage you to meet with me before you decide if I am to be your celebrant.💐
A Notice of Intended Marriage document then needs to be completed with ID documents (birth certificates/ passport & driver's licence) sighted by myself, for QLD Births, Deaths & Marriages.
This is the formal process of booking any celebrant.
I will not accept the request from any couple to hold a date, then refuse to come and do the official booking process, NOIM.
It is hard for couples to line up a celebrant, venue and all their vendors who legitimately need that date.
I thank all my lovely couples who have supported me and all my future couples who have booked me to be part of their special day. I have loved meeting each and everyone of you and I am excited to be part of your journey in matrimony 💞
