BIG DAY IN MEREWETHER! 🌊🐶🌱

Thank you to everyone who braved temperamental weather to drop by our stall at Merewether Markets for a chat today. Always an enriching experience to connect with locals and share our concerns about issues faced by animals, people and the Planet.

And, of course, we met lots of adorable doggos. ☔️🐶🐾

STUNNING WEATHER IN WARNERS BAY! 🌞

Thank you to everyone who dropped by our stall on Warners Bay foreshore today.

Iris the rescued greyhound was our mascot. She’s pictured below just taking a little break. Receiving so many pats is exhausting.

We had some great conversations with Lake Mac animal lovers and met (most importantly!) many cute dogs.

Thank you to Dan from our Central Coast regional group for coming along to help out too.

See you all next time!

About Sentient
Directed by Tony Jones, former host of ABC's Q&A, Sentient is a compelling documentary that explores the hidden world of animal experimentation through the story of Dr Lisa Jones-Engel, a primatologist turned animal welfare advocate. The film examines the ethical questions surrounding the use of animals in research and asks whether harming animals — and ourselves — can still be justified in the name of science.

Whether you're passionate about animal protection, curious to learn more about Emma's work in Parliament, or planning to attend the screening, we'd love to see you there.

Please ensure you RSVP and purchase your movie ticket to this event, as places are limited for both.

ABOUT 'SENTIENT':

Directed by Tony Jones, former host of ABC's Q&A, Sentient is a moving journey into laboratory research on animals, exposing a hidden world in which it's not just the animals getting hurt.

Following the story of Dr Lisa Jones Engel, a primatologist turned animal-welfare advocate, it asks "can we still justify harming animals and ourselves in the name of science?"

"I come at this, not as an activist, but as a lifelong journalist,” says Sentient director Tony Jones, “so we have an ethic of trying to understand both sides of any story, and to not just take a side. I think that it’s up to people to make up their own minds.”

Thank you to the organisers of this morning’s Newcastle rally for the brumbies of Kosciusko National Park for inviting us to speak.
The Animal Justice Party NSW is vehemently opposed to the cruel slaughter of these emotionally intelligent, sentient animals.
The aerial culling of these horses by the NSW Government is based on highly questionable data and this arrogant bloodshed has been performed - once again - in spite of proven non-lethal, humane population control measures.
The barbarism levelled at these beautiful animals is a stain on the State of NSW.
It was also a great opportunity to speak about the amazing advocacy for brumbies in parliament by Emma Hurst.
