đźš’ Stratford CFA Expands Its Service to the Community đźš‘

In just a few weeks, Stratford CFA will officially commence operations under the Fire Medical Response (FMR) Program in partnership with Ambulance Victoria.

Our members have recently completed the specialised FMR training and are now preparing to go live, further strengthening the emergency response capability available to our community.

What does this mean for you?

When a highest-priority medical emergency occurs in our area and a Triple Zero (000) call is made, both Ambulance Victoria paramedics and Stratford CFA firefighters may be dispatched at the same time.

As a result:

👉 You may see a CFA fire truck arrive before an ambulance.

👉 Our trained firefighters can provide initial medical assistance and support until paramedics arrive.

👉 Most importantly, it means help can reach people faster when every minute counts.

This program is all about improving patient outcomes by ensuring emergency care starts as quickly as possible.

We are incredibly proud of our volunteers for completing this training and for their ongoing commitment to serving and protecting our community.

🚒❤️ Thank you to our members, Ambulance Victoria, and the Stratford community for your continued support.

We don't usually share posts unrelated to fire or community safety, but tonight's circumstance is extraordinary. The Stratford Fire Brigade is grieving the passing of an exceptional person. Neil Daniher, a football legend, inspired an entire nation with his remarkable achievements and unwavering dedication to MND. May he rest in peace.

Fire safety researchers warn that escape time in house fires may be much shorter today than decades ago. Homes with natural materials once burned more slowly, sometimes allowing around 15 minutes before conditions became life-threatening, but modern homes with synthetic furniture and open layouts can see fires reach dangerous conditions in roughly 3 to 5 minutes, according to the UL Fire Safety Research Institute and the National Fire Protection Association.

🤴🚒 Well, this was a surprise we didn’t see coming…

As part of his Australian tour, Prince Harry made a special stop at Stratford Fire Brigade today — and he didn’t just come for a photo opportunity!

Harry rolled up his sleeves, grabbed the hose, helped wash the truck, and took the time to thank our volunteers for the work we do protecting the community.

We tried to offer him a permanent spot on the roster, but apparently royal duties called him elsewhere.

Not every day you get a prince helping with station duties — safe to say the truck has never looked so regal!

Thanks for the visit Harry, and if you ever want to swap the palace for the fire station, we’ve got a locker ready for you.
