Strathbogie General Store

We’re looking for a friendly, reliable person to join our small team at the Strathbogie General Store.

We’re looking for someone to work 3–4 full days per week, including a rotating Sunday.

The role is a mix of kitchen and front of house, so no two days are exactly the same.

You’ll be involved in:

• Cooking and food preparation
• Making fresh focaccia and wraps
• Preparing burgers and other café food
• Making coffee
• Serving customers and general front of house
• A mix of kitchen prep, cooking and front of house

Experience isn’t necessary — full training will be provided, including barista skills. We’re more interested in finding someone who loves cooking, enjoys working with people and is keen to learn.

You’ll be joining a great little team in a relaxed country store environment, where everyone pitches in and helps out.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• A genuine love of cooking and food
• Friendly and approachable
• Reliable and willing to be part of a small team

Kitchen Cook Wanted – Strathbogie General Store ☕️

At the Strathbogie General Store we’re looking for a kitchen cook to join our small country café team.

This is not a chef position — we’re simply looking for someone who loves cooking and takes pride in making good, home-style food.

Think simple, rustic meals done well — lasagnes, beef stews, curries, quiches, soups, and fresh café-style food made with care.

This is a permanent position, 3–5 days per week, and as we are a 7-day-a-week business, some weekend work will be required.

What the role involves:
Cooking home-style meals in a busy café kitchen
Preparing food for breakfast and lunch service
Keeping an eye on stock and kitchen needs
Working as part of a small, supportive team
Some customer service when needed (serving customers and helping on the till)
Coffee training will be provided, so you’ll be able to jump on the machine when required

Who we’re looking for:
Someone who genuinely enjoys cooking
A person who can work well in a small team
Kind, reliable, and easy to get along with
Happy to help where needed — front or back of house
Comfortable working some weekends on a rotating roster
