Exciting news! A vibrant new community space is now open to the public at Samford, giving locals and visitors a place to gather, celebrate, hold events, relax and play. 🌳☀️

Thanks to everyone who joined in the fun at the official opening on 22 August.

Samford Parklands Village Green at Mt Samson Road has:
✅ Open lawns for gatherings
✅ Shaded picnic shelters
✅A play space for children
✅ Accessible walking paths with valley views

📍The Samford Parklands Village Green project has been proudly funded by the Australian Government’s Thriving Suburbs Program in partnership with the City of Moreton Bay.

Our Community Activities Grant offers funding of up to $20,000 to deliver projects that strengthen reconciliation and improve social, cultural, sporting and environmental outcomes across City of Moreton Bay.

We’re encouraging groups to bring forward high-quality, creative and diverse ideas that make a real difference in our communities.

Start collecting your bread bags, confectionery packaging, frozen veggie bags, chip packets, and similar soft plastics to bring on your next grocery shop.

Not sure if it's soft plastic? Do the scrunch test: If you can scrunch it easily, it’s soft! If it springs back to its original shape, this is firm plastic and it goes in your recycling bin at home.

Before dropping them off, make sure your plastics are clean, dry and free from any food residue.

Your soft plastics will be recycled into new products, helping to create a circular economy. ♻️
