Today is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.

Over the past few months, the City has been raising awareness of elder abuse through community events and educational resources designed to increase understanding of the issue and the support available.

As part of this work, the City produced 'Would it Matter?' - a video campaign encouraging viewers to consider the real people behind the statistics and the impact elder abuse can have on individuals, families and communities.

To learn more, we spoke with Encompass Legal & Community Services about what elder abuse can look like and why awareness matters.

Our City crews have been hard at work over the past few weeks clearing storm debris following recent severe weather.

With requests significantly higher than usual, teams are continuing to prioritise works based on public safety risks, major obstructions and access impacts. Thank you for your patience as we work through the remaining clean-up.

If you spot fallen branches or other storm-related issues that need our attention, please report them via the City's Online Services: subiaco.wa.gov.au/online-services

Did you know... 🚒
Subiaco’s Volunteer Fire Brigade was formed in 1900, with the help of a trusty horse named Paddy who pulled emergency vehicles. If both an ambulance and a fire cart were needed, Paddy would take the ambulance while the firefighters pulled the cart themselves!
