Omnia Community Health

Omnia Community Health We are a not-for-profit, values-based organisation, established in 2026 through the merger of Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health and Nexus Primary Health.

We cover the Hume, Macedon Ranges, Mitchell, Murrindindi and Strathbogie local government areas. Omnia Community Health is a not-for-profit community health organisation, providing a range of services in the Hume, Macedon Ranges, Mitchell, Murrindindi and Strathbogie local government areas. We care about the health of our community as an entire population. We are concerned not just about ill-healt

h and treatment of disease, but about the factors that actually predict whether someone is healthy, like strong families, social cohesion and mental health, as well as the prevalence of risks such as obesity, tobacco, alcohol and drug use, family violence, problem gambling, and vulnerabilities that come from low incomes or ageing. These are some of the faces behind community health in our region - past and present - and I've had the privilege of working alongside them over the last 12 years.

I recently joined Omnia Community Health in Kyneton for a special morning tea to reflect on this time.

The team presented me with a beautiful book filled with photos and memories.

It's a very special reminder of the people, projects, and moments that have made representing Macedon such an honour.

I've watched this wonderful organisation evolve from Cobaw Community Health, to Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health, and now Omnia.

The name may have changed, but the heart of the organisation hasn't.

Its commitment to making our community feel healthy, connected, and supported remains as strong as ever.

One project I'm particularly proud of is the $9.7 million Labor Government investment to build the multi-purpose hub in Kyneton.

It's an extraordinary asset for our community and a great example of what can be achieved when government and local organisations work together.

It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces, including former CEO Margaret McDonald, who travelled all the way from Wodonga to be there.

Thank you to everyone at Omnia for the memorable morning tea and, most importantly, for everything you do for our community.

Asthma Week 2026 (1-7 September) is all about shining a light on women and asthma, and how from childhood through to older age, hormonal shifts across the life course, can change how asthma affects women.

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australian women live with asthma, and women are twice as likely to die from asthma as men?

Here at Omnia Community Health, we offer a pulmonary rehabilitation program from our Kyneton site.

This is an exercise and education program that teaches the skills needed to exercise safely and manage breathlessness.

Our Speech Pathologists support adults experiencing communication and swallowing difficulties related to disability, illness, injury or ageing. Through personalised assessment, therapy and support, we help people maintain meaningful connections, participate in daily activities and achieve their goals.

Communication and swallowing are essential to wellbeing, independence and quality of life. Day 7 of Speech Pathology Week highlights how communication creates possibility to thrive.

We're currently accepting referrals for adults, with minimal wait times available across our service locations. Whether you're self-referring, accessing services through the NDIS, My Aged Care or another funding pathway, we'd love to hear from you.

Contact us at [email protected] to learn more about our services or to make a referral.
