Open House weekend in Brisbane is an opportunity to tour some of the new and historic buildings in the city. Brisbane Arcade is so well maintained. Some of the new buildings in the Queen Street Mall have interesting facades. The highlight was a tour was a new building up near Petrie Bight with entrances from both Queen and Adelaide Streets, 480 Queen Street. Well worth another visit to eat at some of the new cafes on the first four floors open to the public. A fabulous mural rises several floors from the entrance depicting a forest with indigeous people and native animals, just beautiful.

A busy month in November with several great outings organised:

Friday, 4 November a visit to the PNG Volunteer Rifles Museum at Wacol - one for the male members.

Thursday, 10 November, BYO picnic at Mansfield.

Friday, 18 November, a bus trip to Ringsfield House and Nanango.

We're all looking forward to the Christmas Party at The Glen in December.

21 members attended the Jaffles in the Park at Coopers Plains in September. A cool day but the tarps kept the wind out. Just the weather for a hot and tasty jaffle.

During November, outings are planned to the PNG Volunteer Rifles Museum at Wacol. Then a bus trip to Ringsfield House, Nanango to visit the historic home.

October outings will be to visit some of the buildings open over the Brisbane Open House weekend. Then the ever popular Pizza and Pavlova picnic is on 13 October.

Unfortunately, some members have resigned recently due to relocation and ill-health. However, a new member will be inducted at the August meeting so our numbers remain around 100.
