SES Week is 24 to 30 August and we're proud to celebrate the many faces and stories of our incredible Queensland SES volunteers, and the staff that support them.

But we don't do it alone.

Behind every volunteer is a strong support network of family, friends and employers, alongside valued partnerships with local and state government, other emergency services, businesses, and the community.

That's why this year's SES Week theme is 'Ready, Together' - recognising that when we work together, we build stronger, safer and more resilient communities.

Last night members from Maleny State Emergency Service and State Emergency Service - Kawana joined Nambour Group at Mt Ninderry practicing our landsearch, logistics and patient retrieval skills.
Thank you to all who assisted in organising it and all the members who volunteered their time to attend.

This weekend Nambour members attended the Kenilworth chook chase to support the local Kenilworth community and Kenilworth State Emergency Service Group with fundraising efforts. Members manned checkpoints ensuring participant safety along with providing logistical assistance.

Last night a joint exercise organised by Kawana SES, bought Nambour and fellow volunteers from Kawana, coolumsesgroup Maleny State Emergency Service and State Emergency Service - Caloundra together, simulating a local disaster leading to missing persons, roof tarpings and flood boat operations.
It was great to see the Sunshine Coast SES unit work as one with everyone contributing different skill sets.

It’s National volunteers week! SES members and communities around the country celebrated WOW day wearing orange this Wednesday to show support. Thank you to all the dedicated volunteers along with their families who support them when they step up and support their communities day in and day out.

A big shoutout and thank you to Palmwoods Bowls Club for generously hosting a fundraiser and donating the proceedings to Nambour State Emergency Service!

The funds are going directly to help purchase new lighting equipment that we need to conduct jobs and land searches at night.

From storm damage to Sith damage control, the team is always ready to respond. Thanks to everyone who keeps the fun, teamwork, and community spirit alive, even in a galaxy far, far away.

SES volunteers across the state attended and supported services to commemorate ANZAC Day and honour the courage and sacrifice of those who have served and our current service members.

Wear Orange Wednesday (WOW Day), taking place on Wednesday, 20 May, is a national day dedicated to celebrating and showing appreciation for the incredible SES volunteers in Queensland and across Australia.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Queensland SES, a significant milestone in its history. Let's celebrate the incredible contributions of volunteers from all walks of life.

Earlier this week members from all over Sunshine Coast unit came together at Maroochydore State Emergency Service depot for an awards night. Numerous awards were given including but not limited to the Emergency Response Medal and the National Emergency Medal. These medals are awarded for extended or significant services during a nationally significant emergency in Australia. Congratulations to all the recipients and your contribution to the SES.
