Inspiring the Next Generation!

We were delighted to welcome Matthew Flinders College student, Cody Garth, our NYSF Student Grant recipient, to the Rotary Club of Buderim recently, where he joined us to share a little about himself, his interests, ambitions and his plans for the future.

It was wonderful to hear about his journey so far and to learn more about the young person behind the scholarship. His enthusiasm, determination and willingness to embrace new opportunities certainly impressed our members. 👏

The National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) provides an incredible opportunity for young Australians with a passion for science, technology, engineering and mathematics to explore their interests, meet like-minded students and gain an insight into future study and career pathways.

At Rotary Club of Buderim, we are proud to support young people in our community and to help provide opportunities that can make a real difference to their future.

We wish Cody every success and look forward to hearing about his experiences and achievements along the way!

Proud to be able to help Cycling Without Age through our Bunnings BBQ Community Assist program.

They applied via our website, came along to our meeting & gave us a very interesting insight into what they do, & after providing 2 helpers for each shift a Bunnings, went away with an extra $1000 to help them to continue the great work they do here on the Sunshine Coast.

At yesterday's Bunnings BBQ Community Assist, we were proud to be able to help out The Journeymen. A great organization here on The Coast.

The Journeymen started with a simple post in a Sunshine Coast spiritual group, a fortnightly Sunday meet-up for guys to talk, walk, and just be. Six men showed up the first week. Fifteen the next. Within three months, 150.
In July 2023 they were officially registered as an Australian not-for-profit charity. What began as Sunday catch-up became programs, partnerships, and a registered force for men's mental health on the coast.
Today they have 500+ members across Yandina, Buderim and the wider Sunshine Coast, running gym programs, recycling drives, ANZAC Day events, Halloween festivals, awareness campaigns, and the upcoming E.C.H.O Hub. And they're just getting started.

We really enjoyed a presentation at our last meeting from Tim Rogers from Cycling Without Age - Sunshine Coast. What a wonderful local organization, manned by volunteers, working to reduce lonliness & isolation of people in our community by cycling them around some of our beautiful parklands & foreshore areas here on The Coast.
A simple concept enabling mobility restricted people to get out in the sun & breeze, enjoy the waves, smiles & chats with passers-by, maybe spot some wildlife, & enjoy some of our wonderful flora.

Another example of Service Above Self. Great work guys!

Congratulations to Rick Beasley on an incredible milestone – 50 years of Rotary service!

For five decades, Rick has embodied the true spirit of Rotary's motto, "Service Above Self."

Rick began his Rotary journey with the Rotary Club of Mackay in 1976, continued his service with the Rotary Club of Kingaroy in 1991, and has been a valued member of the Rotary Club of Buderim since 2004.

Over the past 50 years, Rick has given countless hours to serving his communities with humility, generosity and unwavering commitment. His selfless contribution has touched the lives of so many people and has made a lasting difference wherever he has served.

Rick is the perfect example of what it means to be a Rotarian—leading by example, putting others first, and demonstrating that one person's dedication can have an extraordinary impact.

Congratulations, Rick, on this remarkable achievement. Thank you for your outstanding service, your friendship, and your enduring commitment to making our communities better places. Here's to celebrating an extraordinary 50 years of Service Above Self!

Yet another happy recipient of our Buderim Rotary Bunnings BBQ Community Assist program.

Hope House offers emergency assistance to women in crisis here on the Sunshine Coast. We are proud to be able to help them continue the work they do helping those in need in our local community.

The focus of Buderim Rotary is to work for our community, so if you are a local NFP organization relying on donations to help those in our community in need, pop on to our website to see how we may be able to assist you through our program.

And if you fancy the idea of being a part of our wonderful club & the work we do here in Buderim, we are always on the look-out for new members, so why not come along to one of our Friday lunch-time meetings to see what we are all about.

We are proud to support this wonderful local organisation and delighted that our donation is helping bring an important community project to life.

The Hospital Auxiliary is creating a beautiful garden respite area for ICU patients and their families—a peaceful outdoor space where they can step away from the clinical environment, enjoy some sunshine, and find a moment of calm during what can often be a very challenging time.

One of the most heartwarming features of the project is that patients will also be able to spend time with their beloved pets. For many people, being separated from their animals during a hospital stay can be distressing, and these special visits will provide comfort, companionship, and emotional support when it is needed most.

We are delighted to be able to support this initiative through our Bunnings BBQ Community Support Program.

To find out more about this program, just pop onto our website or drop us a line.

Just another example of Buderim Rotary working for our community.
