What a fantastic day at our Open Day yesterday! 🚨

It was great to see community members come through, meet our volunteers and learn about what we do.

We were also pleased to have Andrew Wallace - LNP Federal Member for Fisher and Kendall Hatcher MP stop by during the day.

A huge thank you to all our members who gave up their time to showcase our capabilities.

Today we'd like to give a special shout out to our SES member Gayle's granddaughters, Taylor and Emily.

At just 10 years old, Emily wrote the beautiful song "SES Helpers" as a special tribute to her Nanny, expressing her admiration, gratitude, and pride for the dedication and care she shows in helping the community through the SES.

🧡 SES Helpers 🧡

(Verse)
"Rain falls down, wind goes WHOOSH,
Water splashes, rivers swoosh,
Who comes quick to help us all?
SES answers every call!

(Chorus)
SES, hooray!
Helping us in every way,
Day or night, they come to save,
Kind and strong and very brave!

(Outro)
Thank you, SES, yes it’s true,
We feel safe because of you!"

Thank you so much for sharing, Emily! We're super proud of your Nanny too 💯

On Wear Orange Wednesday (WOW Day), we stand together to express our deepest gratitude and admiration for the incredible volunteers of our local State Emergency Service (SES). These selfless volunteers are the backbone of our communities during times of crisis, stepping forward into storms, floods, and unpredictable emergencies when needed most. Their iconic orange uniforms symbolise hope, resilience, and an unwavering readiness to help when it matters most.

This WOW Day, which beautifully coincides with National Volunteer Week, we recognise that the exceptional dedication of our SES volunteers extends far beyond emergency response. Through countless hours of rigorous training and community education, they build the very foundation of local resilience. To every SES volunteer across the State, thank you for your service. Today, we proudly wear orange to honour your invaluable contributions and to ensure your vital efforts are celebrated and supported by the entire community 🧡
