On 6 May 2016, The second meeting will be held between the representatives from the South African communities and Pacific Island Communities at 133 Harvester Road, Sunshine at 6:00pm. The initiative is an endeavour by the Police Department in response to the altercation between the communities' young people at the Federation Square a few months ago. The first meeting selected a sub committee which consists mainly of young people from the respective communities to organize and run events which support unity amongst young adults from both communities. The Network is happy to engage in this endeavour as it deals with the main reason why it was first established. We are happy to invite our fellow Pacific Islanders and our fellow Samoans who like to be part of this great initiative to promote unity and foster good understanding in the wider community.

Last night 28 April 2016, we had another Information Night willingly presented by the Police recruiting officers Tom Taylor and Sergeant Tania, Constable Allan and Police officer Mathew Stuart. Our sincere gratitude to the Police delegates for their informative presentation and warm presence. The Network also greatly appreciated the wonderful contribution of Elder Pastor Pouane Unasa and his fellow Pastors in collaboration with the Police Department and our Network in organizing the event. A good number of our young people turned up with questions regarding the prerequisites of obtaining careers in the Police Force. The event is another endeavour by the Network in liaising with the Police Department to help our young people.
