Inspired by the remarkable life of her great-great-grandmother Annie, 'Raising Sparrows' brings Australiaโ€™s past vividly to life. Beginning on the goldfields, the novel follows an extraordinary journey through Geelong, Horsham, St Arnaud, Wentworth and beyond to Chowilla Station in South Australia. A powerful story of resilience, hardship and hope, the book is deeply rooted in real events and family history.

We had such a fun morning at Nourishing Little Minds at Swan Hill Library today! ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ“

Thanks to accredited dietician, Kerri, from Swan Hill District Health - Eatmovesmile - Food for All - Swan Hill Region.

There were stories, action rhymes, and lots of yummy fruit to enjoy as the kids explored, created cheeky faces and tried new things together. ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿฅ

There are still places available for next weekโ€™s session, so itโ€™s not too late to join in the fun!

๐Ÿพ Looking for a purr-fect way to spend your Saturday morning? ๐Ÿพ

Join us at Swan Hill Library for a very special Storytime! This week, local vet nurse Teagan is our guest reader, sharing the delightful stories A Cat in a Box by Jo Williamson and BIG CAT, Little Cat by Elisha Cooper.

Weโ€™ll also learn some handy tips on caring for our feline friends, plus how to keep them happy at home while protecting our local wildlife. ๐Ÿฑ๐ŸŒฟ

And of course, no Storytime is complete without a cute kitty craft and plenty of fun!

Storytime starts at 10:30am. All ages welcome. Bring the whole family along! ๐Ÿงถโœจ

โ˜•๐Ÿ’› A huge thank you to everyone who attended our Biggest Morning Tea at the Swan Hill Library today! Thanks to your incredible support, we raised an amazing $1055.75 for the Cancer Council Australia ๐Ÿ‘

Our library staff have been busy all week baking ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿง and preparing, so it was wonderful to see such a fantastic turnout โ€” around 90 community members joined us to enjoy a cuppa โ˜•, delicious sandwiches ๐Ÿฅช and slices, while catching up with old friends and making new ones ๐Ÿ˜Š Special thanks, too, to the Knitter Knatter ladies who dropped in a plate ๐Ÿ™

Congratulations to all of our lucky door prize winners ๐ŸŽ who took home books, journals, magazines, handcrafted goodies from the Knitter Knatter stall, jigsaw puzzles ๐Ÿงฉ, mugs filled with chocolates ๐Ÿซ, and two beautiful bunches of flowers ๐Ÿ’ generously donated by Lorraine Matthews.

Thereโ€™s still time to support the cause! ๐Ÿ’›
The Knitter Knatter craft sale continues until Monday 8 June ๐Ÿงถ

If you havenโ€™t visited yet, come and browse their beautiful winter woollies โ€” including scarves, rugs, and knitted toys ๐Ÿงธ โ€” all available at very reasonable prices (cash only).

Every dollar raised from both the Knitter Knatter craft sale and our Biggest Morning Tea goes directly to Cancer Council Australia ๐ŸŽ—๏ธ

Thank you again to our amazing community for your generosity and support โค๏ธ

๐Ÿฅณ We had so much fun celebrating National Simultaneous Storytime today!

The children loved joining in for the special story reading and enjoyed making their own kangaroo ears. We also had a fantastic time practising our ball kicking skills, along with our regular action rhymes, parachute songs and tunnel.

It was a wonderful morning and we canโ€™t wait to do it again next year!
