Watch and Act: Carwong Road, Rappville (Richmond Valley LGA)

Crews are working to control a bush fire burning along Carwong Rd, 5km NW of Rappville, near the intersection of Old Wyan Rd and Carwong Rd. The fire is moving north.

Update: 5pm: The fire burning near Paddys Flat Road and Bruxner Road has slowed, with firefighters gaining the upper hand.
The fire has burnt just over 80 hectares and is currently being controlled.
Firefighters will use tonight’s cooler conditions to identify containment lines and continue work to bring the fire under control.
Weather conditions over the coming days are expected to be more favourable, with moderate fire danger forecast.

An emergency warning is in place for the Bruxner Rd and Paddy's Flat Rd area, west of Tabulam due to a bush fire. The fire is spreading in an easterly direction towards the Clarence River and Clarence River Rd.

If you are in the area of Bruxner Rd and Paddy's Flat Rd, you are at risk. Seek shelter now or as the fire approaches. It is too late to leave.

Firefighters are working to control a fire burning in the Bruxner Rd and Paddys Flat Rd areas to the west of Tabulam. The fire is spreading in a number of directions due to swirling winds.

Fire activity has increased on the Shannondale Rd Fire. The fire is burning near properties along Shannondale Rd and Bloodwood Rd and is moving in an easterly direction towards Geregarow Rd.

After a long day on the fireground, crews working on the Bandaroo Road Fire at Calga can finally take a moment to refuel.

Firefighters have gained the upper hand as conditions have eased, with the fire now under control following a significant firefighting effort.

Crews will remain on the ground tonight, continuing to patrol and strengthen containment lines and mopping up where required.

A well-earned dinner for these crews tonight before the work continues.

Crews continue work to contain a bushfire burning at Calga on the state's Central Coast. The fire is burning along Peats Ridge Rd, moving in a south easterly direction towards the Pacific Motorway. While the motorway remains open, smoke may reduce visibility for motorists in the area. Those in the area of Calga should prepare now. If you are not prepared, your safest option is to leave early.

ADVICE: Shannondale Rd Fire. (Clarence Valley)

Work continues on the Shannondale Road Fire, burning around 15km south west of Grafton and 8km north west of Coutts Crossing in the Clarence Valley.

The fire has burnt more than 730 hectares of bushland and, while it has burnt close to homes, there have been no reported losses.

Crews, supported by helicopters and heavy plant, are undertaking backburning operations to contain the fire along Shannondale Road and near Shannon Creek Dam.

Residents will notice an increase in fire activity and smoke as these operations are undertaken.

A Total Fire Ban is in place today, Saturday 5 September, for the Greater Sydney Region, where Extreme fire danger is forecast.

Warm, dry and windy conditions are expected across parts of NSW, with High fire danger across much of the northeast.

Know your fire risk and what you will do if fire threatens. Report all unattended fires to Triple Zero (000).
