So, you want to add a subclass to your licence, but it’s also time to renew. Stop! You can’t do both at the same time. Often your best bet is to lodge your amendment first, making sure you’ve got plenty of time before your expiry date. Once you’ve finalised your amendment, then you can lodge your renewal.

Do you know the difference between a monitoring centre and a control room?

A monitoring centre, staffed by 1E (Monitoring Centre Operator) licensees, monitors domestic and commercial alarm systems and actions alarm activations in accordance with client instructions. Monitoring Centre Operators don’t physically respond to alarm activations.

A control room is typically a facility located within a specific site (such as a shopping centre, stadium, office building or large business complex) where on-site security operations are monitored and managed. The day-to-day operations are monitored within the site by closed circuit television, internal alarm systems and site-specific security devices.
