Before every Manly Surf School lesson, we launch our drone to assess the beach from above.

Rip currents. Sandbanks. Crowds. Changing conditions.
We identify the safest zones before anyone paddles out.

30 years in the water has taught us one thing — preparation is everything.

The drone gives our instructors:
✔ A clear view of rips and safest entry/exit points
✔ Real-time awareness of shifting banks
✔ Extra visibility across busy beaches
✔ Another layer of safety for every student

Technology doesn’t replace experience.
It strengthens it.

21 years of connection, culture and community.

The Program remains one of the most meaningful parts of what we do at Manly Surf School.

Each year we welcome the Indigenous community from Brewarrina to the Northern Beaches — sharing waves, stories and time together in the ocean.

Yesterday at Collaroy was all-time. Smiles in the lineup. Cheers from the sand. Young surfers discovering what they’re capable of.

Massive thanks to staff Rob Underwood , Scott Romain and for being part of this journey over the past two decades. Thanks for starting this great program

The ocean gives us so much — but this week has reminded us how powerful it truly is.

Our thoughts are with Andre and his loved ones ❤️

At Manly Surf School, safety has always been our highest priority. From now on, all lessons will include drone monitoring to help assess conditions before and during sessions.

This isn’t about panic.
It’s about responsibility.

We owe it to our clients, our staff and our local community to use every tool available to keep people informed and safe.

The ocean deserves respect — and so do the people who enter it.

Manly Surf School just turned 30!
We’ve been riding this wave since 1995.

What a ride it’s been… From working with an amazing team of wonderful humans I’m lucky to hang out with every day, to seeing the stoke on people’s faces when they first stand up, a grom getting their first barrel, or a young surfer winning their first event.

We’re so grateful we get to share the stoke of surfing in our ocean playground every day.
