RSL NSW has secured $1.8 million in Australian Government funding over the next three years to strengthen free advocacy services for veterans and their families across New South Wales.
Through the Australian Government Department of Veterans' Affairs' Building Excellence in Support and Training (BEST) Grants Program, this funding will support RSL NSW’s Advocacy Support Program, helping ensure veterans can access trusted, professional assistance at no cost.
Across NSW, 75 ATDP-accredited advocates provide fee-free rehabilitation and compensation, and wellbeing advocacy. They assist veterans and their families to understand entitlements, navigate DVA claims processes, pursue successful claim determinations, and connect with the right services and support.
RSL NSW President Vince Williams said, “Veterans navigating the rehabilitation and compensation system should be able to access high-quality advocacy regardless of their financial circumstances or where they live.”
“This significant investment will support RSL NSW in strengthening and expanding our network of veteran advocates across the state.”
