Ingleside Rural Fire Brigade is a volunteer Emergency Fire Service in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia providing Fire Protection for our Community since 1952... Ingleside Rural Fire Brigade members volunteer their time as part of the New South Wales Rural Fire Service to assist in protection of the communities of the Northern Beaches Local Government Area of Sydney. We assist with Bush Fire Suppression and Prevention, Vehicle accidents and fires, Structural Fires and other operational incidents and to provide Bush Fire Education and Awareness to our community. We respond to a variety of situations and generally respond to 90-100 operational incidents including Bush/Grass Fires, Structure Fires, Vehicles Accidents, Vehicle Fires, Storm Damage, Automatic Fire Alarm Calls mostly within the Ingleside area. Ingleside also assists with other emergency services like New South Wales (NSW) Police Force, Ambulance Service NSW, Fire Rescue NSW and the State Emergency Service. Our Fire-fighting vehicles include:
One Hino 3400 Litre - 4x4 Pumper
One Isuzu 3400 Litre - 4X4 Tankers
One Toyota Hilux 4x4 Dual Cab Ute

Ingleside offers assistance for events such as market days, fire awareness week, community displays and community education. In September, 2014 Ingleside came 3rd overall in the NSW Rural Fire Service - State Fire-fighting Championships held at Pambula, NSW. As a volunteer you initially complete a comprehensive nationally recognised Bush Fire Fighters course which allows you to become a member of our Brigade and attend operational incidents. As with all Rural Fire Brigades, Ingleside members are regularly called out by pager to assist with incidents 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Currently at Ingleside, all fire-fighting members are required to complete one duty day per month (8hrs) and commit to every second training and meeting nights, which occur once per month. A Total Fire Ban will be in place Monday 12 October 2026, for the Greater Sydney area with forecast Extreme fire danger and the Greater Hunter area with forecast High fire danger. Warm and windy conditions are forecast across parts of the state, increasing the fire danger.

Take action now. Know your fire risk and what you will do if fire threatens. Report all unattended fires to Triple Zero (000).

responded to a fire about 330pm today on Rd at Ingleside 500m West of Maxwell St in Warriewood. Working with Fire Rescue NSW, the fire was extinguish. Some fluids were leaking from the truck requiring HAZMAT attendance from Fire Rescue NSW. One lane remains blocked Westbound, although traffic is free flowing.

If you’re travelling during the bush fire season, you could be affected by a fire. Bush and grass fires can impact roads and highways without warning. Smoke can reduce visibility, and roads may also be closed. Even after rain, it can take just a few days of hot, dry and windy weather for fire conditions to return. Before and during your journey: • Check the fire danger ratings for the areas you are travelling through. • Ensure you have downloaded the Hazards Near Me NSW and Emergency+ apps. Stay up to date with current warnings and set up watch zones through the NSW RFS website or the Hazards Near Me NSW app. • Have a Plan B in case you encounter road closures. • Always carry extra water, a phone charger, and an emergency kit with your essential items. • If conditions worsen, delay your travel or change your plans. is currently on scene at Tip, Rd, Hills with a general waste fire on the Western edge of the tip. Fire is currently contained by RFS volunteers although continues to put up smoke and orange flames into the air.

As of today, the Bush Fire Danger Period (BFDP) has commenced in our district, along with most of the State. It will run through to 31st March 2027.

A Fire Permit is required for burning activities during the Bush Fire Danger Period in Rural Fire districts and at all times in Fire and Rescue districts around the state.

However, on the Northern Beaches a Hazard Reduction Certificate (HRC) is required year-round and during the BFDP a permit is also required.
