Last week, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, The Hon Greg Piper MP, welcomed the Consul General of Bangladesh in Sydney, Mr Shelley Salehin, to the Parliament of NSW. 🇧🇩 🇦🇺

The meeting was a valuable opportunity to discuss the relationship between our two countries. A relationship based on strong economic and sporting links, and a shared interest in a peaceful, stable and prosperous Indian Ocean region.

Did you know? Australia was among the first countries to recognise Bangladesh after it achieved independence in 1971.
