NSW Local Government Community Safety and Crime Prevention Network

NSW Local Government Community Safety and Crime Prevention Network This page helps promote the importance of Community Safety and the inter-agency approaches to crime prevention.

Safety means different things to different people. It is not just about the level of crime in our community, it is about developing and implementing programs that can also prevent unintentional injury. It is about how people feel in our community and there are many factors that affect this. To improve community safety all sections of the community need to work together to create a safer environmen

t in which to work, live and play. Council’s across NSW are proud to be involved in partnerships between government and non-government agencies, community organisations and individuals that are developing community safety programs using innovative approaches. This web-site helps to promote some of these ideas, as well as to identify and put into place strategies that will improve communication and partnerships with regard to community safety and crime prevention. . The Local Government Community Safety and Crime Prevention Network is made up of stakeholders that have an interest in improving community safety and reducing crime. The key contact people are the Chairperson, Secretary and the Executive Committee.

EUCPN-ENAA webinar: preventing youth recruitment - examples of multi-agency cooperation.
Youth recruitment into organised crime is a complex issue shaped by interconnected risk factors at the individual, family and community levels. Tackling it therefore requires a comprehensive and multi-faceted approach. Effective prevention goes beyond disrupting recruitment pathways; it must also provide meaningful and legitimate alternatives that foster belonging, identity and purpose.

How do we know when a passenger needs ramp assistance? ♿️

Well, our staff have an internal app that notifies them that a passenger will require assistance. This notification needs to be acknowledged and if it’s not, it’s followed up with a phone call 📱

The app tells all sorts of details like departing and arrival stops and even where the passenger is seated on the train 🚂

When they arrive, staff retrieve the ramp from these cabinets at our stations and offer their assistance 👏
