This is what Legacy Week looks like so far đź’›

Volunteers out on the streets, badges and bears finding new homes, and communities across the country coming together to support veterans' families.

Every badge, every bear, every conversation helps us provide financial aid, advocacy, education and development opportunities, and emotional and practical care to the partners, children and families of veterans who've given so much for our country.

If you see our volunteers out and about, stop by, say hello, and grab a badge or a bear. There's only a few days left!

Can't make it to a stall? You can still support the cause with an online donation: legacy.com.au/donate

A look back at Monday's Legacy Week NSW launch at the Cenotaph in Martin Place.

From the wreath-laying to the flypast to a moving address from Rebecca, a Sydney Legacy beneficiary, it was a powerful reminder of why Legacy Week matters - and the families we're here to support. Thank you again to everyone who joined us.

Legacy Week continues across the country this week. If you see our volunteers out and about, stop by, say hello, and grab a badge or a bear in support of veterans' families.

Legacy Week began as a time to show community care for children who had lost a parent in war.

Today, that same care reaches children whose lives have been shaped by a parent’s service.

Your donation this Legacy Week tells a child of a veteran: “You matter. We see you. You’re not facing this alone.”

On the first Wednesday of September each year, we mark Battle for Australia Day - a time for us to recognise all those who served in the defence of the Australian mainland and in sea, land and air battles across the Pacific region during World War II.

The immediate threat passed but not before thousands of Australians had given everything to make sure it did. When a generation was left without their loved ones who never made it home from New Guinea, Darwin, or the seas around us, Legacy was there for their families then and we still are today.

Earlier this year we widened our eligibility so even more veteran families can be welcomed in. Today, that means we support more than 25,000 partners and children of veterans across Australia, through financial support, case management and social connection. We're here for them and for whoever needs us next.

Day 3 of Legacy Week, and the momentum is only building! đź’Ş

Today, even more volunteers hit the streets - including Legacy Club Services CEO, Dominic Teakle, who joined the team out at the stalls - but the truth is, Legacy Week only works because of people like you.

So if you haven't grabbed a badge or bear yet, there's no better time than now. Find a volunteer near you, say hello and support our veterans' families.

Legacy Australia sincerely thanks Marsh for its generous support of the National Launch of Legacy Week, held at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra on Monday 31 August.

The event was made even more special by an inspiring address from Nicholas Lord, a Legacy supported young musician whose determination and talent helped him pursue his musical studies and future aspirations. His story is a powerful reminder of the lasting impact Legacy has on the lives of veteran families.

We were also honoured to hear from General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK AC (Mil) CVO MC (Retd), whose heartfelt reflections reinforced the importance of Legacy's mission and the enduring responsibility we share to support the families of those who have given their life or health in service to our nation.

We are deeply grateful for Marsh's commitment to Legacy's mission. Your support helps us continue providing vital assistance to the families of veterans who have given their life or health to our nation.

"Legacy was able to give my kids their childhood back."

This is the difference your support makes this Legacy Week ❤️

Caitland's story is a powerful reminder of why even the smallest of gifts helps veterans' families feel supported, connected and never alone.

This Legacy Week, showing up for veterans' families can be as simple as sharing a post.

Behind every badge and bear is a family who's given more than most of us will ever know - partners, kids, and loved ones of veterans who served this country. Legacy exists so they don't have to face that alone.

Grab a badge or a bear from one of our volunteers this week, take a picture or share this post to let your friends and family know you're standing with veterans' families too.

It costs nothing to share, but it helps more people know why this week matters.

Tag us when you do, and if you can't make it to a stall, you can still donate here legacy.com.au/donate
