FAREWELL ANNIE EVANS | Kind, patient and person-centred. That’s how colleagues describe Anne Evans, affectionately known as Annie, and her incredible 50 plus year career in health.

Starting as a Student Nurse in 1972 at the Royal Liverpool Hospital in England, Anne found her passion for caring for others. Fast forward to 2004, she started as a Trainee Educational Nurse (TEN) at Nepean Hospital and quickly became known for her calm, happy and can-do attitude.

💬 “For me, it's been working with the student midwives and the new staff coming through and just being part of that experience of teaching, sharing skills and seeing people really progress and develop within the hospital and midwifery,” says Annie.

Her story reflects the heart of our workforce: experienced, compassionate and deeply committed to delivering the best possible care for our community.

Thank you, Annie, for your remarkable contribution and for inspiring those around you.

What innovations are shaping the future of supportive and palliative care?

From advances in research to new approaches in clinical practice, our upcoming 35th Supportive and Palliative Care Conference will showcase ideas helping to improve care for patients and families.

This year's theme, Care Beyond Cure: Stories that Shape Us, recognises the value of lived experience and the lessons that patients, families and healthcare professionals can teach us about delivering better care.
