Uncle Danny Eastwood's 'Rainbow Serpent' returns 🎨

In the lead-up to NAIDOC Week 2026 and this year's theme, 50 Years of Deadly, we celebrate local Elder Uncle Danny Eastwood, through the installation of his iconic artwork ‘Rainbow Serpent’ (1988), now spanning the windows of Max Webber Library.

For decades, this powerful work has travelled across continents and supported communities through its enduring message of connection, resilience, and cultural storytelling. Its return invites the community to reflect on the strength of First Nations knowledge, collective wellbeing and the stories that continue to connect generations.
