Screen NSW is the NSW Government's key funding body for the NSW Screen production industry. Screen NSW is part of Create NSW - the NSW Government’s new arts and cultural driver, which brings together arts, screen and culture functions in a new integrated entity. You’ll find us online during business hours (9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday). We’ll do our best to respond to you within 1-3 business days.

Watch tomorrow on ABC TV: Tampa: The Turning Point

Twenty-five years after the Tampa crisis, this compelling three-part documentary series revisits the events that reshaped Australia's approach to asylum seekers and continues to influence immigration policy globally.

Supported by Screen NSW and produced by Mint Pictures for the ABC, the series features candid firsthand accounts from those at the centre of the historic eight-day standoff.

Premieres Tuesday 1 September at 8.30pm on ABC TV, with all episodes available to stream on ABC iView.

Dalliance, a powerful new Australian drama, premieres today.

With an acclaimed cast including Hugo Weaving, Heather Mitchell, Georgie Parker and David Wenham, Dalliance follows retired cameraman Billy who unexpectedly crosses paths with chef Dani, and their connection sets off a chain of events that ripples through an entire community, testing friendships, relationships and long-held loyalties.

Produced by Roadshow Rough Diamond, and filmed on location across Sydney, Dalliance is supported by Screen NSW through the Made in NSW TV Drama Fund.

Marking 50 years in the spotlight, this intimate and cinematic documentary follows Tina Arena's journey from suburban Melbourne child star to international music icon, revealing the woman behind the public persona through candid conversations, archival footage and untold personal stories.

Screen NSW is thrilled to support Lebanese Film Festival Australia 2026, kicking off tomorrow and running until 11 September.

Held under the patronage of Australian film icon Bryan Brown AM, this year's festival explores the theme Resilience Through Storytelling, with a program of films from Lebanon, Australia and the global diaspora exploring identity, belonging, love, memory and survival.

Highlights include a new partnership with the Sydney Opera House, showcasing A Sad and Beautiful World (Lebanon's 2026 Oscar submission), Opening Night film Disorder, produced by Nadine Labaki and Khaled Mouzanar, and acclaimed works from filmmakers Danielle Arbid and Lana Daher.

The festival also continues its commitment to emerging talent through its Documentary & Shorts Showcase, championing new voices from Lebanon, Australia and the diaspora.

Big news for Australia's documentary and factual screen sector!

The Australian International Documentary Conference is coming to Sydney in 2027, with Screen NSW thrilled to be the principal partner of the landmark event.

Celebrating 40 years of championing documentary and factual storytelling, AIDC will bring together practitioners, industry representatives and international buyers for four days of connection, conversation and opportunity.

Hosted across iconic NSW venues, the Art Gallery of NSW, State Library of NSW and Botanic Gardens of Sydney, AIDC 2027 marks the conference's return to NSW for the first time in more than two decades.

Supermax is locked in for NSW!

Starring Will Smith, AnnaSophia Robb, Jaafar Jackson and Jason Clarke, Supermax follows two FBI agents investigating a seemingly impossible murder within the impenetrable walls of a maximum-security prison.

Directed by David Gordon Green, production is currently underway and is estimated to contribute more than $53 million to the state's local economy and create 290 local jobs.

Supermax is supported through Screen NSW's Made in NSW Fund.
