"I want a cleaner... but I don't want anyone touching my things."

For many autistic people and people with OCD, this is a very real dilemma.

A clean home can improve wellbeing, reduce stress and make daily life easier. But allowing someone else into your space, especially someone who needs to move your belongings to clean properly, can feel overwhelming.

The answer usually isn't to force the issue.

With one of my clients, we spent weeks preparing before a cleaner ever walked through the door. We talked about what cleaning actually involves, why some items need to be moved briefly, and what could be done beforehand to make it feel safer.

For example, if a toothbrush and toiletries are put away before the cleaner arrives, the sink can be cleaned properly without anyone touching those personal items.

I chose to hire my cleaner who is kind, patient and happy to follow clear instructions. We use photos, visual guides and consistent routines because they reduce uncertainty and help everyone know exactly what to expect.

We're starting with just a few agreed tasks and gradually adding more as confidence grows.

The goal isn't to eliminate anxiety overnight. It's to build trust and show that small, predictable changes can lead to a cleaner, healthier home without everything feeling out of control.

If you're supporting someone with autism or OCD, remember that progress is often measured in tiny steps. Sometimes the biggest achievement isn't a perfectly cleaned ho use. It's someone feeling safe enough to let another person help❤️💙

There’s honestly never a dull moment in my life 😅

Today I texted a team member: “Just do your best. I’m in court with a client, but if he doesn’t get released I’ll come help you on the packing job.”

A completely normal sentence in my world apparently.

Then tonight, my adult son is heading out to pick up his girlfriend and casually says: “Can you please move the paddles and whips from the front door?” 🤣🤣🤣

So now I’m spending my evening relocating B**M gear and listing it for sale to help fund some of the unpaid/pro bono work I do.

One minute I’m:
- supporting vulnerable clients in court
- coordinating packing jobs
- advocating for people in crisis

…and the next I’m photographing s*x toys for Marketplace 😭

Running a small community-based business means some of the most important work doesn’t always pay. Sometimes you simply help because someone needs it.

Still… a girl’s gotta fund her kindness somehow 💙❤️

When someone you care about is struggling…tough times, mental health, life just feeling heavy…we often do the “right” thing. Send a message. Make a call. “Just checking in…”

But here’s the thing.
It’s not always received how we intend. And sometimes…it’s just too much. Too much to reply. Too much to explain. Too much to be okay for someone else.

And when we’re busy with our own lives, it’s easy to forget to even send the message.

So I’ve found another way to stay connected. I play a simple online word game with them. No pressure. No big conversations. No expectations. We just take turns.

Sometimes once a day, sometimes a few rounds in a row. I’ll throw in a silly word here and there…have a quiet giggle…
and that’s it.

But underneath that…
they know I’m here.
They know I care.
They know I’m thinking of them.
Connection doesn’t always have to be deep chats and big gestures.
Sometimes it’s just showing up in a small, gentle way. 💙❤️

Aunty Ali has grown, and I’m at the point where I need some help behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly.
I'm looking for someone who’s organised, good with numbers, and can keep things on track… and gently keep me accountable when I avoid the boring stuff.

🧾 Bookings, Invoicing & Admin Coordinator (WFH, flexible)

I’m looking for a calm, organised and reliable person to support the day-to-day running of Aunty Ali.

This is an important role. It keeps everything moving behind the scenes so I can focus on client work 💙

The role will start with invoicing and admin support, and grow over time into bookings and client coordination as you become familiar with the business.

🧾 What you’ll be doing

To start with:
- Invoicing and basic accounts tasks (training provided by my current bookkeeper)
- General admin and coordination support

As the role grows:
- Chatting with new clients (text, phone, email)
- Booking jobs and coordinating my team
- Matching the right worker to the right client
- Following up enquiries and keeping things moving

🌼 About the work
We support people in their homes with:
- Decluttering and organisation
- Hoarding & squalor support
- Moving house services (packing, unpacking and coordination)
- Deceased estates/downsizing
- Support work (NDIS and private clients)

It’s meaningful, practical work with real people, often in complex or vulnerable situations ♥️

💡 You’ll suit this if you:
* Are warm, grounded and professional in your communication
* Are highly organised and reliable
* Have strong attention to detail and are comfortable with numbers
* Can communicate confidently via phone and text
* Are open to learning and growing into a broader role over time
* Can problem solve and work independently
* Can stay calm and flexible when plans change
* Are comfortable nudging and keeping things on track when needed
* Experience in admin, bookings or coordination is ideal.
* NDIS or MYOB experience is a bonus, but not essential.

💰 The details
* Subcontractor role (ABN required)
* Work from home
* Flexible, family-friendly hours
* Starting at approximately 5–10 hours per week, with room to grow

$40–$60/hr depending on experience and how independently you can run things.
Starting rate will reflect experience, with room to grow as responsibilities increase.

🤍 The important bit:
You’ll be working with clients who may be overwhelmed or vulnerable.
Kindness, common sense and emotional intelligence really matter in this role.

📩 To apply
Send me a message and tell me a bit about you, your experience, and why this role feels like a good fit.
