Cody Jones, who is a member of the Labor Enabled NSW Executive recently went to NSW Country Labor Conference as a delegate.

As featured in our recent newsletter, (sign up link in comments) Cody wrote a message of thanks for all the support he and Labor Enabled received over the conference weekend:

“As a member of the Labor Enabled Executive and a delegate to the Country Labor Conference, I spoke with several union representatives during the conference, including the ASU and the RTBU, about the importance of disability inclusion more broadly and the progress Labor Enabled is making.

The Country Labor Conference endorsement of our motions means that we are one step closer to ensuring the voices of Australians with disabilities are heard in our party and in the movement.

During the conference weekend, delegates from across the regions and unions spoke about the importance of building inclusive communities and supporting people with all abilities to have access to resources and economic opportunity in their local communities.

On behalf of the Labor Enabled network, I would like to thank delegates from throughout our regions and our union colleagues at Unions NSW, including those from the ASU, HSU, TWU, RTBU, and the USU.”

Fantastic re-launch of NSW Labor Enabled last night at NSW Parliament house, with the NSW Minister for Families and Communities, and Minister for Disability Inclusion Kate Washington MP and our brilliant MC and NSW Parliamentary Secretary Parliamentary Secretary for Families and Communities, and Parliamentary Secretary for Disability Inclusion Liesl Tesch MP. NSW Labor Enabled is looking forward to working with the Minns NSW Labor Government and the Albanese Federal Labor Government to make our community more inclusive and have policies that will make our lives easier. We are also heartened by the work in that these Labor Governments have put into the disability inclusion already. We also aim to empower our members to be able to become involved in the political process through elected office and various elements of the Labor Movement.
