Publication of our Top Borrowers for Term 1 in each year group shows that many of our year 7 students have a sophisticated range of reading material. This can be seen from the list of books borrowed by Eric Fu, our Top Borrower for Year 7.

The results are in!
Year 7 - Eric Fu - 35 Books
Year 8 - Henry Liang - 21 Books
Year 9 - Arnav Karyekar - 7 Books
Year 10 - Luke Yang - 27 Books

There’s at least one in every year group, (and one or two teachers) - people who enjoy the complete distraction of working on a jigsaw puzzle. It seemed to be particularly popular amongst the Year 12 students during the exam block. A group was heard singing together as they worked on the impossible ‘sushi cat’ that ultimately defeated us all with its expanse of white.

“The mission of Project Gutenberg is simple: ‘To encourage the creation and distribution of ebooks,” and, “to provide as many ebooks in as many formats as possible for the entire world to read in as many languages as possible.”

A reminder that over 60,000 free ebooks are available via Project Gutenberg.

And that NSBHS Library also has an extensive ebook collection for students via ePlatform which can be downloaded as an app and accessed using your student email and login.

Welcome back to all students and an especially big welcome to the new Year 7 class of 2023!

It was great to see so many new parents come join the Parent Book Covering Group. The group of 17 were a huge help covering textbooks for HSIE and LOTE and they had a great time getting to know each other. Thank you parents!

Congratulations to our Top Borrowers of 2022! These three are regular borrowers of a wide range of books from our amazing collection. Leo was presented with a book by Neal Shusterman for his efforts.

Year 7 2022 Top Borrower was Leo Wang (45 books)
Year 8 2022 Top Borrower was Peter Luo (32 books)
Year 9 Top Borrower was Alex Hu (33 books)

Peter's favourite books was 'The Tattooist of Auschwitz', a novel by Heather Morris, and Alex's (not pictured) favourites were the science books, as science is his favourite subject.

Our Term 4, 2022 Top Borrower results are also on display. These went to: Jeremy Wu (Year 7 2022), Peter Luo (Year 8 2022), Ray Huang (Year 9 2022) and Brendan Boomla (Year 10 2022).

Lastly, we have new book displays featuring books with an environmental theme 'Tree of life' and 'Magical Realism' book collection. And our Featured Author is best-selling Fantasy writer Joe Abercrombie.
